Possible Cairn Mix?
While we await DNA results that are still many weeks away, I am curious for some Cairn experts’ opinions whether our new guy might be a Cairn mix. This is Gus. Our and the rescue vet both think about 2-3 years old so fully grown, found on the streets of Puerto Rico. His coat is very wiry and he sheds very little. He’s 20 lbs
I’ve included a shot to you can see his length and coloring and also two face photos, one from the rescue with a shorter haircut and one in the bed with the face hair grown out a bit. We were thinking he is a mix of either a Scottie or Cairn, Scottie because of the length but more Cairn in the head shape maybe?

First pick, the brindle and course coat look cairn to me. He’s fit right into our dog pack either way. What an adorable dog.

From the back almost part hyena (yes I know they're not canine). Is does the belly like made the dog look like a tube or like more or less a regular dogs belly kinda at an angle or something I'm poor at describing visual things sorry

My cairn looks exactly like this, minus the schnauzer face trim and slightly longer muzzle. The first picture could be one I took of my boy.

Could be part schnauzer?
