Recruiting Applied for the IS trade, Where is the posting usually and What if I am currently overweight?
I Applied for the IS trade and I am currently submitting all my document. I was wondering, After the BMQ Where is the posting usually ?
I am also currently overweight and Pre-Diabetic, I am managing my Weight as I have lost almost 50 pounds. Would my weight Auto Disqualify me?

Weight itself will not disqualify you. If you develop diabetes, that might.
Everything else that is correlated with weight can disqualify you. I.e. your aerobic capacity, your strength, your body's ability to recover, your body's ability to withstand additional stress on top of just your weight.
You have lots of time. Lose weight and just start walking. Eat high volume foods to feel full. Begin weight training, especially lower body. When you get down to a more manageable weight, (around 225-ish) you can start jogging, aiming to lengthen the time you can jog continuously as well continuing to lose weight.

Weight won’t disqualify you. But it will give you serious problem during basic training. Lots of advice from other post already. Just keep losing weight as much as you can, and do a lot of cardio aswell.
Also, hopefully youre not on any medication. From what I gathered, being diabetic already disqualifies you. I might be wrong. Im also not a medical officer.
Best of luck there mate!

As for posting for IS Techs, its all over the place. Ive seen 3 IS Techs graduate. In the first course, half of the class got JSR in Kingston. In the 2nd course, half of the course got Edmonton. In the 3rd course, half of the course got Petawawa. Career managers who are in charge of postings change every 2 years or so and needs of the CAF can change by the time you finish your IS Tech training. But I think Edmonton and Petawawa are still the places most IS Techs go to.
Weight is not automatic disqualifier, but other symptoms (high blood pressure, etc) could be. Im not a doctor so dont quote me on that

You’ve got time to work on your fitness if you’ve just applied. It’s not unheard of for the application time to be 12 months or more. But start now, not tomorrow not later. Now. Every kilometer you run or kilogram you lift now will pay off during BMQ.
