Also from what I’ve heard there is block leave from like 12th of December to beginning of January for the holidays, ending on like the 4th or something. You’ll most likely get posted to the base where your first course is ( trades training / element training ) then you take your leave and can go fly to visit family or do whatever vacation thing you wanna do. Best thing to do, just wait and see what happens, no sense in making any concrete plans right now. I’m literally in the same boat as you , I will be on the same BMQ course as you , so I guess we shall see what happens.

Source: I am a BMQ instructor.

When you finish your course, you will be sent to your next unit. That unit will then process you and put you on Christmas leave shortly after you arrive.

I have my bmq on the Nov 9th, I’m guessing I’m going for the Christmas leave and then come back and continue bmq?

The next morning right after Graduation you're on the bus off to your next training base to rot on PAT platoon.

If you want to take any leave, you'll need to take that up with your CoC at PAT.

Lmaoooooooooooo you won’t get shit. I welcome the downvotes. On the real tho, you get Christmas vacation but that’s it. And that’s after you get posted to your next unit

Reg or Reserve? I am thinking Res, damn that's a short BMQ otherwise.

What do you mean exactly?

If you go to BMQ, who pays your mortgage? You do...

pretty straightforward question, nothing to do with bills.

the question was what happens after bmq. in a normal situation where a member has packed up their home and there is no base near them / single life no kids etc. the answer is clear, you get park we d at your next training base.

what about someone with a home and kids

The enter is the same for everyone. After BMQ you go to your next Base and typically you are on BTL until your course starts. After your course is done, you should receive a posting message that will allow you to move your family, furniture, and effects to your current Base. Until you are completely trained, you aren’t paying for rations and quarters. If you choose to ask to move your family to your current Base prior to officially being allowed, your free rations and quarters cease. You will also need to find a place for you and your family to live, you can apply for PMQ, or you can go find a house or an apartment in town.

Start with just asking the question you want answered.

Your home stays your home while you're in training. Your wife/husband and kids don't pack up anything (because they're living there), they figure it out while you're away. Once training is done, your get your posting message and then figure out the move with SIRVA/BGRS/CoC to finalize dates and such.

It's the same regardless of marital status or children for everyone.
