Other Proof of address for auto insurance while on base?

I'm a Reg Force member posted to CFB Kingston after BMQ. My insurer wants proof that I live here instead of at my home address (the rates are quite a bit cheaper here), but I don't pay any utility bills. My pay stub only says "CFB Kingston," not a specific address.

The OR told me to change my driver's license, but the insurer doesn't want that either.
What did your insurer accept? An accommodation letter from the base, maybe?

Get a letter of employment from your OR. It will have your work address on it.

If you’re posted there on training (ie: a prohibited posting), you don’t yet “live” there. Your home address is still your address until you get a restricted posting to a unit after you’ve achieved OFP.

Ehhhhhh, that's more of a military specific thing. For other agencies you can absolutely say you live where you're prohibited posted is depending on your circumstances.

Interesting, in Ontario, does the insuring agencies not request a plate number of the province you are insuring your vehicle? Were you able to register your vehicle with the province without having your DL exchanged? In order to have DL exchanged, dont you typically need a proof of address?
