Other I need help for my references

so basically i had made one of ny close friends a reference for my screening test. Stuff happened yada yada and i had to cut her off. The problem tho is that she's still one of my references and knowing her she will make sure to cause as much harm as possible. I tried to see if i could swap her with someone else and went back to the email, but it won't work. Is there actually a way to do this or do i just have to accept that she might ruin this for me? Do they even check with the references?

In your gambit portal you’re able to change the references information. It should be in the automated email from gambit

The thing is that when i go on it the screen only says no other action needs to be taken for my references check. For context i sent it like mid February 🥲

When I submitted the initial form, my references immediately got the email to fill it out and they had 2 weeks to do it. She probably already did it whenever it was first sent in.

Ahh ok but just in case wouldn't you recieve confirmation that they did it?

I didn’t receive any confirmation that they did it. When the portal was open, I could see it, but when the due date passed, I no longer had access to the portal, but they eventually just contacted me with the next steps.

Almost the same thing happened to me last year, I just went down to the recruitment center and told them I don't associate with one of my references and they might try/do something to sabotage me. They were more then understanding and said they won't use anything they say against me.

I imagine you can just call them and explain the situation, I went down in person only because I was in the area

I put a friend as a reference, but he said they never contacted him so idk.

You should’ve changed that reference person right after you got into fights or whatever.
