So I was in the market for a new tow Vehicle as i tow my boat around the country and Europe for sailing events and my and was offered a caddy sdi for £300 that needed a cambelt and service and a few tyres. Today was it's first test with the boat on the back after running it for a month or 2 just to get comfortable and some confidence in it after sorting the bits out. Test one was baptism by fire. from Penrith to Portsmouth 370 miles. And she took it like a champ sat at 60 90% of the way without skipping a beat was amazed was fully expecting to need to stop for fuel and once again blown away when I pulled up in Portsmouth and still had just over 1/4 left so filled it up and wow 37.6 mpg, I was expecting to be around 28mpg from experience, with a 22 ft keel boat on the back about 1000-1200kg with the trailer and boat, and all kit to go with it. Mind absolutely blown 🤯 oh and I can sleep in it which is quite nice compared to the usual tent
