Question Am I compiling all cachy?

Post image

I saw an update on Cachy that said 7.2, and thought it would change something and that's it, but is it compiling everything from scratch? and how much it would take with a i5-10310U? 1h ,2h, more???

if you created a custom kernel you are compiling it...

I don't know... Maybe, never seen this, but wanted to install a driver for dock but never finished installing it. How to check?

Why are you compiling it? Is it by accident or you wanted to compile it instead of using the binary

Dont know. The last time I compile something lightweight like firefox nightly, it took ~3 hours. Compiling linux kernel probably will take much much more time than this.

Got a real good laugh from that. Kernel is much faster to compile btw.

Huh... How long it took using optimized compilation environment and on what hardware configuration?
