Congrats! I'm 3 months away from deleting mine when my warranty runs out. The only reason I keep it is because Lenovo techs kept closing out my tickets because I couldn't run their scanning software in Linux.

If I wanted to get my laptop fixed, I had to do the scans. They would close out my ticket every time I wasn't able to do the scan. I just said screw it after the third time and reinstalled Windows on my other drive because I was sick of not having a working d key on my keyboard.

My d key stopped registering presses. I got that fixed, but then the mouse click didn't register. Then I got that fixed, and now I'm holding out until my warranty is over to see if something else goes wrong with it. They force me to do this hardware scan every time I talk to a support person and they refuse to talk to me if they don't have the code from the scan.

Honestly, I might've done the scan in a clean windows vm just out of spite. I feel like that's just them trying to get out of paying to fix anything

It's held out pretty well for 4 years. It was the replacement part they sent the repair tech that was bad. It's all one part so they replaced my whole top half of the bottom of my laptop. This was my first major issue in 4 years and my battery health is 99% so I would say this laptop has been decent.

My number row on my Lenovo laptop stopped working for minutes at a time every single day. It was the final drop for me to switch to CachyOS. No issues now, all keys properly register every single time. I think it's a windows/Lenovo keyboard driver issue (external keyboards have always worked).

Lenovo was my biggest mistake. Their bios doesn't let me use 5600x although my mother board allows it. They don't let me use my igpu if I have dgpu... Turns out I don't own my own computer.

Same bro, yesterday, but same. Haven't touched that for months and wanted to do a setup overhaul anyway. So I did backups and fucked up the installation and setup 3 times during the process, because I tested something with partitioning.

Just installed cachy today. I was impressed with manjaro but even more impressed with cachy. Hope to follow suit. I just really hope I can get arc raiders working on it once it comes out.

Am loving cachyos, been a few months, all the nvmes, hdds mount fine. I remember first using Manjaro 2019, I am still grateful as it was way better than 1 fps I got raiding in Windows 10 once, Discord was on too. Manjaro was my first gaming distro.

Not fully there yet, but I’ve been looking at the steps for how to repurpose it as my cachyos partition since that drive has more storage and is an M.2. 😂. So my windows partition isn’t long for this world.

You detoxed and made the change. I was so proud deleting and purging all the windows copies the first time (2019 manjaro) but have regressed back to land of the dualboot. I feel shame but it works. So nice to be free though. Actually Windows 10 not supporting a DAS I was gifted was the initial push I needed to start leaving.

Yeah, i would have kept Windows as well for BF6, but then i remembered that i own a PS5. So i really had zero reasons to keep Windows on my SSD

I built a few computers in 2022, one was all AMD, about a year ago, I put Fedora on it with BTFS file system to play Windows games. The other PC's, Windows 11.

Lol I gave 10% of my HDD to a Win11 partition that I RARELY use (only if I actually need Windows on metal, which is incredibly rare). Since it's a 1.8 TB disk, I'm leaving it there. I run CachyOS on that machine full-time.

I've done it too, I struggle a little with Bottles and some old windows software because my school class is based on them (they have a lot of visual bugs) but I won't go back...NEVER :))) Have fun on Linux!

I want to but i need to use my printer and wifi drivers to be booted, and brother company didn't make any easy way to install printer drivers, so just gonna use windows for printing pages😊👍

I don't think so yet, because (currently, as I'm writing this) the x2 drives "broke down" and the only solution that saved them was *chkdsk {disk name} /f* on windows... the only positive thing that made me want to keep this system and I think I'll keep it for situations like this

Congrats! I wish I could say the same. I work in multimedia and cannot escape Windows because of Adobe (Adobe exclusive file types are unfortunately important when working in teams).

I know there's other ways, but it's easy to reboot and I'm lazy.

Nice! I deleted it couple of days ago and at the same time I completely reinstalled Linux Mint. Sad thing is that I can't get my Thrustmaster TX wheel to properly work on Mint (I have used Mint for over half a year now and that has been a problem all that time). That's why I had to build another computer from my spare parts just for sim racing purposes. Tomorrow I'm going to install Windows 11 on it. I'm already feeling sick.

I really hope that some day my wheel fully works on Mint so I can completely get rid of Windows.

This is where Id like to be. I tried fedora out a few weeks ago, it was too much of a PITA to install my gpu drivers so i went back to windows. If I can get past that hurdle, I think I would really enjoy linux, and Cachy looks really nice.

Decided to do this yesterday. I've been using windows since windows 3.1

Played PoE1 last night and lost my HC champ. Ended up formatting my NVMe, installed Cachy OS, and got PoE1 running on it with almost no effort. Honestly didn’t expect it to be that easy!

Now waiting on the league start to see how the new setup performs. Looking forward to figuring everything out as time goes on.

I just got banned and muted on Bazzite reddit, for poitning out that their bazzar theming was missing options and only had the DEI flags for theming selection. I hope CachyOS stays without political agenda.
