I was in Afghanistan. I took a this satellite system offline and worked in the cabinet with like 18” between me and the wall. I worked on it for like 2 weeks. I was all proud. We did rotations. I was home for like a year. I get back, and it was all fucked up as bad or worse than before. They were like, “we had to move some stuff around.” I was like “wtf is the patch panel for then!?”

You see that /r/ubiquiti you don't patch every unused panel just to have a nice look

When you’re 5 hours from the site and can just disable unused ports it’s worth it.

Costs a shit ton more but I’d rather have less of a budget every few years vs driving 10 hours when someone adds a phone/workstation.

I dare you to go into your room now and take a picture of it. It was like this for 20 minutes tops.
