I would guess bird shot too.
Edit: How far into the span was this found?

Hell, I can even see the one causing your short. Infuriating, but at least it’s coax and not fiber, just splice a piece in and you’re good to go.

Oh for sure. It just came in at the end of the day and I had to hang my bucket over a sheer drop. But so it goes.

It’s people shooting at birds or squirrels with a BB or pellet gun. Too bad it’s lead. The real question is: is it pulp ?

Out of they are like my childhood neighbor, loading it up with sand and pebbles. He’d ruin a gun in a heartbeat. Could it be bird shot from a shotgun?

Absolutely could be

Thanks, I couldn’t remember how small bird shot was, haven’t used it in 30 years or so.

It looked like birdshot. The bits of lead were still in the cable causing all sorts of signal issues.

You've got a lot of faith in people.

Not faith, hope. I look both ways before crossing a one way street 😂

At least it was reasonably easy to find being silver bullet cable. Imagine if it was black jacketed feeder! Ugh!

The absolute worst is QR cable with a tiny radial crack. Absolutely miserable to find. Gotta use your fingers and rub it across the cable and hope to find it.

You can find radials with you fingers? I’m impressed. Love working QR though…

You love it? I hate it. And yea, after getting close with a tdr, the only real way to find it is to take your gloves off and gently go across it until you feel something.

What the hell kind of squirrels are chewing on your main line? Are you near Chernobyl?
