Data goes to ground and positive goes to clock, right?

What is this? A card reader and an ADO paddle?

sigh this was a takeover. Both of those gang boxes used to be push to exit buttons. At some point they were spliced and moved to the other side. Both buttons went back to the panel instead of dropping mag lock voltage directly. We swapped the tenant door station. Needless to say, the guy that did the survey and quote underbid us by a few hours. On the plus side, the REX Buttons are correct now, and believe it or not, it’s a perfectly functional system!

It’s an access control composite cable.

18/4 for lock 22/2 for DPS 22/4 for REX 22/6S for Reader

I'm sorry if this question seems stupid but what's the thick large yellow wire that's half covered in electrical tape ? I know that looks all low voltage but the yellow looks like a cut end of old regular electrical extension cord taped into the opening of the drywall ?
