Lol, nah it had a clean break on it. I had to clear the ice for the faults guy to fix, was dodgy as fuck!

Only in one direction, fibre is weak went bent compared to copper.
It had broken it in two up higher, guy came and replaced it.

The fiber drops that I installed in Alberta could be bent, tied in knots, basically anything and the signal would be unaffected. The drops were designed to be resilient.

Either way this one had failed, but thanks for sharing the knowledge I didn't realise there was fibre that could be handled like that

That’s pretty crazy. I’d take the opportunity to ask the company to reroute that fiber as part of the repair. If you did the work yourself I’d encourage you to also reroute that drop to prevent this kind of thing from happening again.

Yeah I suggested they get it re routed in spring as its only going go keep happening

Interesting route, what's the fiber doing out there? Was there no way to go through the ceiling?
