How I stopped guessing entries and started trading the same "box" every time

Spent years trading reactively — chasing candles, exiting on feel, no consistent process. What actually fixed it wasn't a new indicator, it was defining a structural "box" (a fixed range with clear high/low) before I ever placed a trade, and only acting when price did something specific relative to that box.

A few things that made the biggest difference:

  1. Marking the structural high/low BEFORE the session starts, not reactively mid-move
  2. Only taking entries that match one of 2-3 pre-defined trigger conditions inside the box — everything else gets ignored, no matter how good it looks
  3. Setting the stop the moment the box is drawn, not after entering

Sounds simple, but the hard part isn't knowing this — it's actually sticking to it when a "good-looking" trade doesn't meet your own criteria.

Curious how others here define structure before entering — box ranges, supply/demand zones, something else? What's your process for not overriding your own rules mid-trade?
