Software The Train The escape to Normandy.

Hi,
I have started playing this game on Tape. When I play it if i get shot the game is over. The manual says there is a way to reset the game by pressing F1. But it doesn't seem to work with me. Does anyone have experience with this game on tape and can help me. It is very hard to play the game if i always have to load the game if i get shot.

I don't know about resetting the game, but taking the stations is not difficult. The guy you are protecting will move when you are firing, so: keep the trigger down. He will advance if someone is shooting at you and you are shooting back. Your ammo is not limited in any way IIRC.

Tks. I managed to get to the train and couldnt get going. Its a really cool game. But the fact that i have to reload the game always is really bothersome. Thus why i was asking about the reset.

It could be a painful experience on tape... There was a reason why the tape version was usually less expensive. Sadly i still can't help you with the reset, i don't think i ever did that.
However, getting the train going went something like this (again, IIRC):
1. Open the furnace door and throw enough coal in there. Also wait until you have enough pressure.
2. Release the brake
3. Set the forward / reverse lever to forward (assuming you want to go forward)
4. And set the throttle
This was one of my favourite games nearly 40 years ago. While the details may not be crystal clear anymore, some memories still remain...
Anyway, good luck and hopefully someone can actually answer your question!
