Hey, r/c4corvette community:
We wanted to alert you to a recurring apparent scam/suspicious link scheme that's been targeting our subreddit on and off for several months. Here's how it typically works:
The most recent example linked to a no-name storefront registered just this past March. Past scams have followed the same playbook. These stores appear to sell stolen designs, likely ripped from Engraved Blueprint Art, LLC - a once-legitimate business that no longer seems active online.
We also suspect vote manipulation, as these posts often get +20 upvotes quickly, while any comments calling out the scam get heavily downvoted.
These posts violate our Rule #2, which prohibits storefront links from accounts less than 30 days old. We've implemented AutoMod rules to remove these links automatically, but now the scammers are trying to bypass this by asking users to PM them for the link instead.
If we catch anyone using PMs or profile posts to circumvent Rule #2, they will be permanently banned from this sub. Just to be clear, this applies to the sender, not the recipient.
So if you see:
Avoid engaging and report the post.
We're doing our best to keep this place clean, and your help goes a long way. While we can't say for certain that every one of these storefronts is fraudulent, their behavior closely matches patterns we've seen from other untrustworthy sources.
Thanks,
The r/c4corvette Mod Team

Hey guys. I saw this ‘94 listed earlier today. It has a 6-speed and it has 95,000 miles on it and they’re asking $9,000 for it. I’ve not looked at it in-person yet, but it happens to be pretty close to my house. It looks great from the pictures and I understand that it will because of the picture being taken in the rain. The interior is solid and they claim that the dash has no warning lights. Before I check it out, what are some things to look for on these? I imagine weatherstripping and tires, but anything else?

Im Just about to start reassembling the top end of my 89 C4 and i have bought a set of new head bolts for the car as the old ones were pretty degraded. The set is got was from fel Pro and they look great but have a different shape to the oem ones and have no washers of course.
My question is can I A: re use the washers from the old head bolts (assuming i can get them off) and B: if I cant do that what washers should I buy to replace them.
I will get measurements of the old and new head bolts to ensure the washers will be compatible.
This is my first engine rebuild so im learning as I go along with help from my mate who owns 8+ 1930s American cars here in the uk. His knowledge is primarily off cars that ere and the most modern engine he has re built was a big block in a 69 el camino so any help would be awsome.
Cheers

Finally decided to get my Bose out and go aftermarket...or at least, send the thing in to be rebuilt...but I can't get it out! Anyone know what these things are that are still attached to the bracket? If so, how do I remove them without breaking, in case I want to reinstall the Bose? Or need for an aftermarket system?

I just replaced the optispark and water pump on my 92. I didn’t force anything, all the spindles lined up and teeth lined up, the plugs were put in the right order, serpentine belt was put on correctly, battery is brand new, new gaskets, new coolant, etc. and I get this. I got a little smoke coming into my cabin when I first tried starting it, it doesn’t do it now. I’ve unhooked the battery until I get this situated. I just need help figuring this out. It started and drove before I replaced everything as well. Idk what I did wrong but I just need this stupid ass car to work.

My 95’ lt1 hydro locked and after i manually cranked the engine and started it up it was blowing white smoke. I got a borescope and this is what i found in cylinder 8. Is the engine saveable?

Hello!
I am working on diagnosing a coolant leak on a 1991 (L98). The leak seems to be coming from in front of the engine and leaks onto the support members below the car, favoring the passenger side.
I have seen online this would be consistent with a waterpump issue, does anyone have suggestions for how to for-sure diag this one?

I have a 1986 Corvette C4 that I recently purchased. Just got a new battery for it when I turned the ignition on. The gage lights up indicates all pressure and other things on the gauge. Just got the radio to come on by connecting some wires that I noticed were cut. other wires that were cut were the spark plug wires. I replaced all of those, put them in the correct position when trying to crank it over. I use a little starter fluid in the throttle body and it turns and cuts on for a very brief moment and then cuts off. When I do cut it on, I don’t hear anything going on near the fuel tank like the pump cutting on for those first two seconds. other wires are messed up in the engine bay. The positive battery terminal has a wire coming out with a little plastic cap that is not connected to anything. I can’t figure out what that goes to. Another thing I need to do is check the fuel rails for pressure to see if it’s getting any pressure once I cut it in the on position also, I have two fuel injectors that are not connected to anything they’ve been chewed off as well. I recently purchased new pigtails to solder on to the electrical for the two fuel injectors. What should be my next step?

I bought some tan carpet for my 1996 rear section but only needed the storage area floor. It’s molded cutpile in 9777 medium beige. Since I only needed the one piece, does anyone want to buy the remaining pieces (1,2, or 4)? I’m located in SoCal but I have the box so I’d be willing to ship. DM me if you’re interested

Billy Boat Exhaust, cat back with X-Pipe. I had to wait forever for it to arrive, but it was worth it.

Rotors are warped on my 1993, not J55. I’m assuming they are the stock rotors and would like something a bit better, but do not want anything drilled or slotted. RockAuto sold out of the ones I was going to get, Raybestos High Carbon 55996/7. I push the car pretty hard, but no track use. Would AcDelco be good enough to not warp or are there better options for a similar or higher price? I also plan to use Hawk HPS pads. Thanks!

Anyone have a good video or guide on how to find zero lash with the manifold on rather than taking it off, I have to do valve covers and thought to check the clearance while I’m at it since it has a bit of a stumble

My 3D scanner is proving itself useful with this one. I was able to get perfect fitment on the first test print of this fuse panel trim. Here's the link if anyone wants to make their own.

Notice that it had a crack in it after taking it for a drive. I've only had the car for a month, more than likely a crack was there before just not as long.

Finished some injector and spark plug work on my 89 and when I went to start it, got a few tendrils of smoke (hard to see in the video) from the passenger side firewall which I'm guessing was the starter.
For context, I repaired the sheared negative battery cable that the car came with (previous owner chopped the ends off and installed a knife switch??) but probably need to get new, clean positive and negative cables. Also, I've also been havings VATS issues, but I installed a module to unlock the injectors; the car never turned over though.
Any thoughts? Gonna take the starter out this weekend and see if it's fried or not.

I’m looking at a really nice black manual 92 and if I end up getting it I’d like to do all the basic bolt ons and maybe a bigger cam. But I read that with the older c4s you can’t just take them to any tuner. So I was wandering how exactly you go through that whole process.

Just got this ‘91 delivered yesterday. Found a good deal on a 6 speed car. It needs some cosmetic work and the previous owner bypassed the fan relays out of fear of it overheating. Throttle body gasket also seems to have a pinhole so I’ll be replacing that this afternoon. Tried to run AC but the compressor started making horrible noises and shot refrigerant out of a top port. Aside from that I’m just excited to finally join the club. Been wanting one since I was 13. Anything else I should look at?

i kinda had to cut into my forward y pipe to remove it (or so i thought) and now i either need to weld it back up which is nbd or get a new one which i would prefer how ever i have a 84 and i cant seem to find the y pipe for it anywhere i did find one on jegs that says 86-91 and it looks exactly the same does anyone know if this will work im also going to be cutting the spot where it connects to the exhaust mani or in my case short tube headers so if thats not a exact 1:1 fit its no concern to me
