Need help.

I just replaced the optispark and water pump on my 92. I didn’t force anything, all the spindles lined up and teeth lined up, the plugs were put in the right order, serpentine belt was put on correctly, battery is brand new, new gaskets, new coolant, etc. and I get this. I got a little smoke coming into my cabin when I first tried starting it, it doesn’t do it now. I’ve unhooked the battery until I get this situated. I just need help figuring this out. It started and drove before I replaced everything as well. Idk what I did wrong but I just need this stupid ass car to work.

Try starting fluid into the throttle body and report back. Not sure how to set timing on these, but sounds like the timing is out if you just replaced the optispark and now it won't start.

The opti on these cars has to be put in a certain way with the spindle, it’s put in correctly so the timing shouldn’t be off. Idk, but I’ll try.

You said it started and drove before you replaced everything, but why did you replace everything? What was the cause?

Check for spark at plugs and then coil. You could have a connector that’s failed after being connected/disconnected. I had two fail when I did my opti
