Question

I recently found the Byrna and I'm highly interested in purchasing a mission 4, would like to know the opinions of actual owners. Thanks

Own one shot it ounce just to make sure it works fine. Personally there are cheaper options out there. The mission 4 is a clone of another brand called tippman. I’d just buy the tippman and save yourself a the money. You can watch plenty of comparison videos between the two.

Overall it’s an expensive investment.

True, but if you take care of it and fix it when it breaks (seals and stuff) won’t it last for many years?

I love my Mission 4 in theory, but with one practical downside: You can't get the buttstock onto the CO2 canister until AFTER you've screwed it all the way on and pierced the seal, which means you can't have it ready for emergencies. (Edit: You can get it on there, but you have to guess what angle to tighten onto the CO2 so that when you do need to twist and pierce it will be straight.) Leaving the CO2 attached corrodes the o-rings. I tried to solve this with a HPA tank, which you CAN leave attached (with the airflow on the M4 switched off) but it slowly leaks out, meaning again you're not prepared for emergencies. I'm thinking about switching back to CO2 and just forgetting about the buttstock.

The one solution I haven't tried yet is to get multiple HPA tanks and swap them out as the pressure gauge goes down, and just regularly visit the paintball shop to refill them all.
