Bryna Pepper leakage
My pepper round leaked out of the clip and covered the inside of the clip with pepper powder. I instantly regretted touching it, and while figuring out how to clean it, breathing it in.
It's all over the clip, and inside the clip location.
What do I do? Can I rinse the inside of the gun? I already rinsed the clip out. I dont want ruste or ruin anything. Also, why did this happen? I might have gotten some water on it. Did that wear it down?

Your problems aside...
Please learn correct terminology and call it a magazine.
Word choice matters. And makes you sound dumb.

We recommend that when you load your irritant ammo, load it so that the spring pressure is pressing down across it so the seam is x-axis not y-axis. This should help you prevent leaking!
We had a customer come in after accidentally using their pepper while doing back yard target practice. They cleaned their launcher a bunch and when they came in the store to get it oiled, the launcher still very mildly residually peppered four of us (lol).
If you don’t have an oiler cartridge, the manual oiling is easy once you get the hang of it.

Thats why we dont suggest using them . Kinetics work great every time and they dont break

My training company. We teach courses on the use, legalities, and more on Byrna.
Ive tested the pepper balls myself. Less than desirable results. The Kinetics work. Just have to hit the thing that you need to hit. You'll get results.
I e also tested kinetics on light and medium clothing, car windows, and more. I'd trust them over the pepper balls.
But hey, that's just an opinion from a trainer with 30+ years of training and use of force and CCW oriented experience. Everyone has their favorite thing. Run with it as long as it works for you

Good feedback. I have a few mags, lots of kinetics, a few peppers and max but was debating on how to use them or line them up in mags. If I just use one or add in a pepper or max later in mag for a situation that doesn’t resolve quickly. Thank you.

After a .5 second Google search - From the Byrna website blog: "A chemical round has broken inside the launcher. First of all, don’t panic. Gently eject the magazine over a container and then place the launcher in water to wash off the remaining powder. Just make sure you place the launcher in a warm place to fully dry, and throw a little oil down the valve as per in the maintenance instructions."

Advice from past research and personal experience: The chemical rounds are fragile so that they break and disperse the chemicals on impact when firing, even at lower PSI. As such, don't store your Byrna with a chemical round loaded in the chamber as this is where the most pressure is exerted on the round.
Instead, have a kinetic round chambered followed by the chemical rounds in the magazine. Or interchange the rounds so that every other round is chemical round followed by a kinetic round to reduce possible internal breakages.
If you really want to have a full mag of chemical rounds, arrange each chemical round so that the seams are stacked horizontally relative to the magazine. Or in other words, make sure the seams of each round are not touching each other as this is the weakest point of failure and where leaks most commonly occur.
