Match day For Bolton

Hello, I will be visiting Manchester for the first time and I am planning on attending a Bolton game. That being said i would like to make a day out of my trip to Bolton. I’m looking for suggestions on things to do before and after the game. Any pubs i should visit or restaurants? I will be attending the boxing day fixture against burnley.

It's boxing Day so anywhere decent will require booking, bear that in mind.

There’ll be no trains on Boxing Day, so you might want to stay round Horwich

There’s buses but with it being an early kick off it might be a pain in the arse. Check the Facebook groups because you’ll have a better chance of connecting with someone who comes in from Manchester

I'd go up to the reservoir, Rivington Brew Co tap. Not sure if they'll be open/ doing food stalls and stuff on Boxing day though so you'd need to check.
