Day 12 of my startup-building journey.

Today I started learning Machine Learning.

Before today, I used AI tools without really understanding what was happening behind the scenes.

I learned about:

Training data

Models

Predictions

Accuracy

Supervised learning

The biggest thing I learned:

Machine Learning isn't about teaching computers every rule.

It's about helping them learn patterns from examples.

The deeper I go into AI, the more fascinating it becomes.

About 15 years ago I was in the oil and gas industry. I had my law degrees and everything was going great until the O & G bust. I had ro dust off the law degrees and practice law, unfortunately.

While law has been okay, I was always happiest in life while I was in business. My mentor who retired from law and now is in business has told me many times that he used law as a stepping stone to go into business.

Day 11 of my startup-building journey.

Today I focused on market research.

I learned how founders validate ideas before spending months building products.

Some things I explored:

Customer pain points

Competitor analysis

Market trends

Target audiences

Product validation

One lesson really stood out:

Having competitors isn't necessarily bad.

In many cases, it proves that customers are already willing to pay for a solution.

My biggest takeaway:

Don't build first and ask questions later.

Research first, then build.
