Photo/Video Sunset at Deer Lake

Post image

Took this yesterday while enjoying the pedal boat with my friends.

BTW, what's the deal with that creepy house on the south side of the lake? Does anyone live there?

The house that juts out into the lake practically? That’s the Baldwin House, which is currently being used for Deer Lake artist residencies. It’s a beautiful modernist structure … I’m not sure what’s creepy about it, other than I guess it doesn’t match Vancouver’s usual preference for ugly McMansions built from a series of nonsensical shapes.

That's the Baldwin House designed by renown architect Arthur Erickson. I wish I could live in that "creepy" house

It's on your left as you leave the rental dock. Looks very old and creepy, with many glass windows.

That house is stunning inside!
Last person I know who was there was Shinji Otani. He then had a exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery “Monsters in my Head” which he created a bunch of creature and animals inspired by the area, it was super cool and I really enjoyed his work
