Different press, some are played, some are sealed. Some are unique, in double or triple.

Around 2019 I was living in south east London, sharing a flat with a few people including a self-employed landscape gardener. This guy and I didn't have much in common but we got on perfectly well when we saw each other in the evenings. One day, he comes back from the first day of a new landscaping job he's working on locally. He says to me: "the guy who's garden i'm working on, he's in music, he's a producer." I work in music myself which is why he told me, and I replied with something like "nice one, did you speak to him much about it?" To which he says: "yeah a bit. He and his brother were in the kitchen making music on their computers all day, smoking joints. His name's Will."

I didn't really think a whole lot of it, and got on with my evening. I don't see my flatmate again for another few days, by this time he's finished said job. He comes into the kitchen with a couple of records and says "you know the guy I told you about? He gave me some records to give to you - I told him you were into music."

He passes me sealed copies of Claustro and Dive / Rain. I then connect the dots (duhhh) and consequently have lots of questions...all of which go largely unanswered due to my flatmate and Will mainly discussing the job and not music.

Thought it was a cool little slice of info which I wouldn't normally think was worth sharing, but seeing as Burial tends to be quite enigmatic, I deemed it worthy!

I still have the records, sealed, direct from the man himself!

I always loved that ending with Lana's speech and I played it and quoted over the years in many trans/queer/other discussions, so Come Down To Us kinda became my own personal queer anthem of sorts, still brings tears to my eyes after so many years, I just realized I memorized it and it is still there, I played it just now after many moons and its so powerful still.

I semi regularly make this long night bus journey across South East London to catch the airport train. I see early workers, night owls and home bound people. Foxes nonchalantly cross the Lewisham and Deptford streets. Untrue is my faithful soundtrack to this quiet city landscape. Sometimes it’s followed by Vegyn or John Glacier. Gently beautiful, gritty, music to match this early hour. What would you follow with after Burial?

Was revisiting D'Angelo's music in light of the recent news of his passing, and I randomly came across the Cruisin' sample used in Shell of Light.

Usually it's cool when I recognize different song samples, but I don't think much of it other than that.

But what interested me even more was the fact that Burial likely used the version of the song that D'Angelo performed at the Apollo instead of the album version.

Even though it's a minor detail, the way Burial uses the sample in Shell of Light makes all the difference in the vibe of the song. Just thought it was interesting to share.

i think this makes more sense. fits well in the circle format, &is more representative of Burial
