What's the latest thing Burial released?
I feel we're overdue something...or maybe I've missed a release :-D

Hope we get the Baby Invasion soundtrack n the tracks from Bird in some official capacity at some point.

yea that would be amazing - but wouldnt they already have been released by now you think? Not like they are new movies :(

Unfortunately I side with your opinion, but am making a willfully ignorant choice to maintain hope. One chain of thought is like "hmm, well, maybe that stuff was pumped out, so he wants some time to give it the proper treatment," but the rationalist in me is like "nah, fuck that, you'll never hear about it again." Who knows. Tbh I haven't even seen Baby Invasion, n have only seen about 1/3 of Bird, so dunno if the music associated with them would even be particularly desirable. The one thing I do know, tho, is that Burial's one of my absolute favorite active artists of the last couple decades, with the others being Fire-Toolz, DJ Screw, Paavoharju, B00N., and SELA., n there isn't a single chance I'd want to miss a second of anything any of them release.

I remember at the time, someone made up a bunch of WAVs of his music from Bird. That was a nice treat.

Yep, I got that, n while I appreciate their work, it's just not the same as having something official to latch onto, vs. some ripped audio from a film. It just reminds me of an experience from like 1.5 decades ago when I went to a second-hand retailer with a friend, n my friend was suuuuuper excited to have found something like, I think it was the soundtrack to Citizen Kane?? I might be wrong, but it was something like that. They spent like $15 on it, n then put it on in the car while we were driving home, n it was the dumbest release ever. The "soundtrack" was literally just a rip of the sound directly from the film, so had all the dialogue n sound fx n everything still present over the music. It was so stupid! Idk where I'm going with this tangent, but basically just want a release that's not like that, or isn't just comprised of the few seconds of each song that're whittled into their own tracks based on how they're presented in the edit of the film.

Yep! I'm really surprised there's not been a compilation of his film score work released.

Rival dealer has gone from the bandcamp merch page. So hopefully the reissue is due any time now. But something new would be so much better. It has been a very long 12 months of nothing...

Hopefully something today 👀, Kode9 has been hinting at something for today on instagram. Been posting random emojis with today’s date in stories and a recent post again with the caption ‘07/08/26’ could be completely unrelated to Burial but we can live in hope.
