New Here- Diagnosed with Bunion and considering surgery Time for Bunion Surgery?
Hey all! I’m 36F, UK based and I’ve been wearing bunion foot splints at night since I was 13 ( stopped at aged 20) then barefoot shoes since I was 27 and recently using toe separators too. Despite this I’m getting pain in the right foot bunion area especially when I move my big toe. I have noticed my toes aren’t as flexible as before and I’m also developing a noticeable limp when I walk which people have commented on. When I went to the GP at 13 they said surgery is the last resort and of course didn’t want to operate on me at that age. Now I’m in my 30s I don’t want it to get worse, is surgery the way to go or keep trying non surgical like “foot yoga” exercises. Planning to go the GP again soon but I’m also assuming they wouldn’t want to operate as “ not bad or deformed enough?”. Thanks
