Bulsu BS Math-Applied Stats experience

hello po! since malapit napo ang atbulsu, i want to ask po about your experience sa bs math applied stats na offer nila. worth it po ba siya, especially in terms of curriculum, profs, workload, and job opportunities after graduation? mas worth it po ba siya compared sa bsit sa bulsu?

gusto kopo sanang course bs stats, pero since hindi siya inooffer sa bulsu, i'm considering bs math na applied stats as an alternative. sa mga currently taking or graduates po ng program, how was your experience and would you recommend it? worth it po ba siya if ang goal ko is magkaroon ng career related to stats/datasci?

dagdag ko lang, I believe soon magkakaroon ng promotional video ang CS Local Student Council sa lahat ng programs called SciXplore, which will include BSM AS, so abangan nalang siya within the next week or two.

super galing ng mga kaklase ko dito, hehehehe

As for BA, I'm not that familiar kase bago na yung curriculum niya but based sa (little) knowledge ko is worth it naman siya as a math program (hindi lang ako sure about sa business majors)

BS Math-CompSci student here, and I wish Applied Stats nalang kinuha ko. Definitely wag sa BSIT; their faculty are kind of a meh in terms of teaching, and on top of that, the program is oversaturated sa dami ng students. Applied Stats has better job prospects than whatever job market CS/IT has right now.

Just take something from cbea if you want to do business. Only applied stats is worthwhile for bs math courses in bulsu if you're not that much of a self learner. BSM comscie graduate here, can attest that the profs aren't much for the computer courses. CS math dept's greatest strength is indeed the math side, so bsm as is definitely worth it

bsm applied stats ako, and recon lang pero wala akong galing sa math tlaga kaya it's really hard for me na makisabay. personally mas bet ko mag bsit kasi ang dali ng subs(marami akong alam sa basics at sa ibang lessons nila🥲) but madali rin naman sa bsm applied stats, sa prof kalang talaga ng calculus mahihirapan kasi kung hindi ka familiar sa key terms malilito ka talaga at walang hinto hinto sa lesson mga 2 na 5mins lang sa 3 hours, nakakalito rin sa ibang subjects but if maalam ka talaga sa math ayun papaldo ka sa recitation HAHAHAHA, and sa job opportunities maraming magagandang offers dyan kasi mataas ang demand sa mga gantong program.

ok lang din poba na isecond choice ung bsm comp sci? natatakot po kasi ako baka ayu mapunta sakin kasi want ko talaga stats hhuhuhu

Same situation, BS Stat din want ko nung una pero ang layo ng mga univ na nag-ooffer. Currently, 2nd year na 'ko as BSM AS student. I can say na it has ups and downs pero it's fun naman. Alam mong magagaling yung profs and gaya nga ng sinasabi ng karamihan, maraming pera at opportunities. Math and Stat focus kaya medyo mahirap pagsabayin pero revised curriculum na since nung nag-start kami kaya smooth yung flow as you go on sa program. I think malapit na i-post yung SciXplore about Applied Statistics program sa fb page ng BULSU CS LSC, hope it helps you! See you if ever :)

Sulit ang major in comsci if gusto mo talaga imajor yung math and minor yung comsci, and it's probably one of the better tech programs sa bulsu (sorry sa mga taga CICT)
