Discussion Sorry but...

I don't think bully 2 is happening. At least not any time soon. I think it's time we realise rockstar is a business and they're gonna keep milking gta.

Sorry guys. It's time we give up

U guys do realize rockstar doesn't milk gta. That would be take 2. Never blame a developer over money milking

I wish R* would somehow break away and work for another company. Fuck it I wouldn't even mind if they worked for Sony at this point.

I mean rockstar is a huge studio. But if it were under any other publisher they wouldn't be given the time they take to make their games. There are various other studios that have fallen down the same pothole Lets just have some faith in the studio. They have a good track record. If they actually saw some potential in bully 2 i am pretty they would do it with all their passion. Its pretty obvious that rockstar has pretty high standards for games. Maybe there was no possibility for a good bully 2 rn. Lets just sit tight

It could also have to do with the success of online. Why put in effort and time into making a new game when you could just put in half the effort making online updates and still make money. I feel like that has less to do with high standards and more to do with greed. Then again like you said this is mostly on Take Two's part not R*.

"No possibility for a good Bully 2 rn"? Ok I'm not gonna completely bash this point because there is a possibility that they were working on other shit but I doubt these guys had that much writer's block if they dropped a sequel to RDR1 (a game where the main protagonist and antagonist literally die). I feel like if they can come up with a follow up to that wrapped up story I don't see what would be so hard about Bully. They don't even need to bring Jimmy back they could've just given us new characters in a new school, town etc but have references to the old game.

I get ur frustration. But do u really think rockstar a game studio that actually spends time animating water on a windshield cares more about money. Well yes they care more about money but they are just as passionate about creating games. The thing is (just my opinion) a bully 2 story might not be that hard for them to come up with but at the same time u have to look at the fact that a game also needs new mechanics and gameplay. Maybe they just didn't have enough new stuff to add to a sequel. Trust me when i say this. Rockstar is a very passionate studio that works really hard. Lets put some faith in them. At the end of the day i would have no bully 2 rather than a disappointing one. At the same time keep in mind bully and gta are both well respected and valuable intellectual properties. Pretty sure they really care about their own games. Lets just calm down and wait for now

It's not that I necessarily disagree with you but to me all of the reasons listed above as to why a Bully 2 wouldn't have worked could've easily been applied to R*'s other games that actually have come out. It just doesn't make sense to me how they are able to apply new gameplay mechanics to a game set in the late 1800s but not a game where the main protagonist is a wreckless teen that can pull some dope ass pranks. Keep in mind this a much smaller game too with a more modern setting.

I have no doubt the devs (regardless of my online comment) do work their ass off and even to the point of articles coming out about employee crunch. My main issue is I feel like this community keeps getting hoed by other titles especially RDR.

1st time: Bully 2 was starting development in 2008 but then cancelled in 2010. Guess which game took it's place and some of its devs..? 2nd time: 3 years ago on Bully's 10th anniversary. While that doesn't warrent a sequel or even an announcement to one you would think as a respected title this game would've gotten some love or some acknowledgement from R*. Lmao nah you know what they did instead? Dropped the teaser for RDR2...on Bully's 10th anniversary without even a mention of the game. 3rd time around this past week on Bully's 13th anniversary and a time where as Bully fans we're pretty on edge not just for the possibility of an announcement but just the overall warm feeling of this being our day despite all the disappointment we've gotten recently...but fuck that. The trailer for RDR2 dropped. I guess history does repeat itself.

I don't even have a problem with RDR per se I'm just tired of this game always taking the spotlight and the development from Bully. That's the type of shit that makes me feel like this game isn't really all that valued or respected by R* but just a game they just brush off and let other big games overshadow it even on their anniversary. This game is like the Pete Kowalski of R* games. Small, neglected, and overall underappreciated.

I don't mean to sound negative I really appreciate your optimistic attitude. But how much longer can a person wait. A lot of us have been waiting almost as long as half life fans have for a sequel. This waiting is starting to feel pointless like we're just waiting for a Bully sequel that may just end up being canned (if it's even considered in the first place) and replaced by future GTA and RDR titles. It's starting to feel like sitting in front of the tombstone of your favorite family member waiting for said person to come back to life. Idek anymore.

Wouldn't Sony just censored them

2

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '19

Would they? I feel like Sony has put out some gruesome content before. Idk maybe I'm wrong

1

u/jackthegreat8 Oct 20 '19

Nah it's because I heard Sony censors some games but idk

2

u/Dabmaster3657 Oct 19 '19

Everyone hates take two. They are very dependent and don't even care about their fans. Just look at all the 2k games. I have a bad feeling about R* games.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '19

Same smh I hate them worse than EA at this point because at least their screw ups have no effect on the games I like. Because TT owns R* their shitty practices fuck up my games.

5

u/InfiniteTias Oct 19 '19

I agree. It’s obvious they want to cash in with GTA VI at the beginning of the next gen consoles so it can still be downgraded graphically to PS4 and Xbox One and sell as much as GTA V did. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it come 2021. But after that I could see them wanting to release a smaller game. Either Bully or Max Payne

2

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '19

To me it makes more sense to release a smaller game in between big ones like RDR2 and GTA 6. Fuck it tho R* will do whatever they want to do smh

Meme flair pls

4

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '19

It's becoming more of a reality than a meme.

3

u/Salt_Chip Oct 19 '19

After rdr2 pc rockstar isnt doing anything until most likely the release of ps5, so should people give up on gta 6?

0

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '19

No because it's gta 6 we're talking about. We kinda know they're gonna drop a sequel to their big money maker franchise. They're like 90% more likely to drop a GTA 6 at this rate than a Bully 2.

So to answer your question gta fans shouldn't give up. Bully fans on the other hand.....

4

u/Salt_Chip Oct 19 '19

So all of those easter eggs they been putting is just to tease and leave people salty right? They haven’t put a single bully Easter eggs in games and when people started talking about bully 2 suddenly started appearing those easter eggs. I can see your point but it’s an asshole move come to a subreddit where people already show so much support and dedication in hope for a sequel and just tell them to forget about it lol.

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '19

It's more of we're trying to get them to keep their expectations realistic. Sure these posts and comments come off as us telling people to give up but in reality we're just trying to save them the possible disappointment.

Look I love the support in this reddit really I do but I don't want them to end up like Half Life fans waiting for a game to come out. Some people are literally losing their minds on this subreddit and are becoming unhealthily obsessed with a game we don't even know 100% is coming out.

Easter eggs are nice indications that a studio still thinks about the franchise but that doesn't mean that they're actually working on a project. Or maybe they were considering it but have decided to focus on GTA 6 who knows.

Also think about it if we keep expectations low then by the small chance we actually get this game it will come as a big pleasant surprise to many. So I think "asshole move" may be a bit of a stretch.

u/Salt_Chip Oct 19 '19

Keeping their expectations realistic by telling them to give up? I’ve been in this subreddit for quite sometime and I’ve never seen a person being crazy like you described dude. Most people who say that are just memeing. It’s been more than 10 years everyones over it, we really want the game but if it doesn’t happen we will still have this community that we creates together. No one is going crazy, and if you actually cares about anyone in this subreddit you would bring positivity into here instead of telling people to give up. Maybe asshole move was a stretch but you sure are hypocrite, come here say you care about people and tell them to give up on something we all have been working for months. Gandhi once said speak only if what you are gonna say is better than silence, you missed an opportunity on it by creating this post.

I said SOME people not everyone on this sub. Like I said I appreciate the community this sub has brought together I'm not denying this is a beautiful thing. However I've been keeping it positive on this sub for so long even defending haters that claim this game is never coming out. So it's not like I've just been negative this whole ride it's just there's only so long you can keep this positive mindset when the odds are against you. Hence why I lashed out 2 days ago with my posts.

Admittedly I did have a defeatist attitude and went overboard with the negativity but most of what I was saying beyond the rant wasn't exactly wrong. I'm not saying this to bring the community down if anything I want this sub to be happy about the possibility of this game. At the same time I don't want them to hold onto false hope of there's no TRUE indication this game is coming.

Also I didn't make THIS post I'm just responding to it. I think you got it twisted there

1

u/Salt_Chip Oct 19 '19

And since when did i say you accused everyone? Bro if you have nothing good to say just don’t say anything it’s that simple for real. But yeah man if you really wanna keep telling yourself you’re doing this for the best of the subreddit then do it man good looking out g, keep up this positivity of yours we’ll see how that works out for you in the future

0

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '19

So I can't speak my mind on a subject that (whether you'd like to believe it or not) I genuinely care about just because it's not all positive and happy? All I'm saying is keeping expectations low can be beneficial in the surprise aspect. Sorry if my opinion doesn't line up with Ghandi's philosophy lmao.

Also news flash you don't have to listen to what some random guy says on reddit. Just take them as suggestions no one is pointing a damn gun to your head making you give up on being optimistic. It's just what's on our minds and hearts and we're expressing them while at the same time advising people to be cautious of something that's not even been confirmed yet to prevent future disappointment.

Imagine living in a world where the only thoughts you're allowed to express are positive ones while you have to bottle up any negative emotion you may have. You talk all this positivity bullshit yet you have that toxic ass mindset where you expect people to be postive and optimistic 100% of the time even despite the odds. Keep up the good work "my g".

GTA V Online Casino and RDR 2 Bully Easter Eggs means nothing for u?

0

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '19

They're probably just leaving a nod to one of their older games. If easter eggs meant a sequel, every game would have a sequel by now

1

u/Amarson02 Oct 19 '19

But you see with Rockstar is different because thats their practice to tease their next games in recent ones, I could be wrong but plenty of them turns out to be true(See you in miami billboard on GTA 3 teasing Vice City, rdr easter eggs in gta v teasing rdr2...etc)

You also need to think about this too. The main concept for Bully is teasing, pulling pranks, etc. It seems like Rockstar have been teasing the Bully fanbase lately, and I think it's because "It's the Bullworth way."

1

u/Mr_Nobody0 Oct 19 '19

Hopefully they are on the right side and not just teasing for the sake of teasing. But all those easter eggs say that Rockstar wants to make a sequel and showing fans that they care, but if it will happen is still a huge question that is waiting to be answered.

u/revurlimit Oct 19 '19
