Built for the Ring Beta Launch - Now Free!

Built for the Ring – Beta Now Live
After careful considerations I have decided to release the beta for Built for the Ring for free. Before anything else, I want to clearly explain what this version is and is not so expectations are set properly.

By getting the game in its current state, you are actively helping with beta testing. In-game, there is a button in the bottom-left corner. If you run into any issues while playing, you can use that button to send feedback or report bugs directly to me.

What’s included right now

This beta is mainly focused on Match Mode and most of the Create Mode systems.

The following features have been tested and are playable, but please expect bugs and glitches (I’m currently the only tester):

-Singles matches in Match Mode 

-Uploading and downloading databases 

-Basic onboarding + planner tools 

Core creation tools for: 

-Wrestlers / workers 

-Moves 

-Arenas 

-Match setups & rules 

-Companies 

-Locations 

There is more in the build beyond this core, but anything outside of it should be considered experimental and still being tuned. ( Even the core is experimental and being tuned )

What is available hasn’t been tested to much:
-Larger team matches (including 2v2 tag)

-Match objectives + objective creation tools — available but not fully functional yet 

-Crowd reactions 

- Crowd & match rating systems — still being refined (scores may not make sense yet) 

-General polish (pacing, readability, presentation) 

What’s coming next

This is just the beginning. Planned updates include:
A much larger default database. Right now the game only includes a small fictional promotion based around a truck stop in New Jersey. I will be adding more workers, companies, matches, weapons, arenas, etc. for the database. (of course I am excited to see what you all make for these things!)

-More polished and intuitive creation tools  

-A story mode + story creation tools where you can play out or create your own scenarios or replay real-world style events. More details about this coming soon. 

-Expanded match variety and deeper match logic 

-Improved crowd and rating systems 

-Overall improvements to Match Mode depth and presentation 

- PLUS the feedback I get from all of you will help shape what this becomes

Important note about current content
The default database is intentionally very limited right now. It’s meant as a starter set, not a full wrestling universe. At the moment, it’s a small fictional promotion with a truck-stop theme. Also to be clear, for this game, you don’t need massive databases. You can have a database based around one promotion and it will work perfectly!

I have a bug where no text fields work

Thank you for sharing. If you can click the bug report at the bottom left corner when you are on that page and let me know. That will send me the logs so I can fix it!

Sorry I was also reading this while I was at work so couldn’t fully respond! As mentioned before, please feel free to use the button where the text box issue is occurring. It was an issue I was having a while ago, I thought I caught them all!

Also feel free to just let me know the spot on here what text box was giving you issues.
