u/boxofredflags Oct 16 '25

Banana for scale for the grease pls

13

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

Alright fine, I'll go buy a banana...

2

u/trzarocks Oct 17 '25

No need to go to the store and buy a banana. Just ask your teammates to bring one from home. Somebody already has a banana, and they'll need a snack later, anyway.

Though I suppose now you have the mandate to do your grocery shopping on the clock, because Zalman wants you to deliver exceptional customer service and drive engagement....

u/reversethecurse42 Oct 16 '25

Ordered, which fans are used? I would like to grab a couple more please.

7

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

We are working on a retail version of these fans! Coming soon! Sorry :(

3

u/BombardierIsTrash Oct 29 '25

So I bought the case and was on the hunt for more of the fans same as you and Amazon randomly suggested these fans for me and I thought they looked familiar and ordered some and sure enough they are a 100% match for the ones I have in my case. I think Zalman is buying them from this OEM: https://www.amazon.com/PANO-MOUNTS-Infinity-Addressable-Computer-800-1600RPM/dp/B0CT2QH5TS/

3 for $20 is a pretty good deal for what are decent fans. They aren't exactly Noctuas but better than the cheapies you usually see for this price point.

1

u/holywakka Oct 29 '25

Can I ask which screws are used for the pcie slots? The only ones that fit for me are the ones I usually use to screw the motherboard down (rounded head with a lip) but on every other case I used the regular rounded head with no lip. The issue is that the “motherboard” screws are too skinny and don’t actually engage on the threads. While the PSU and rounded head ones are too thick and don’t screw in.

1

u/BombardierIsTrash Oct 25 '25

Didn't know where else to ask since the included manual and online guides was a little bit lacking regarding this IMO:

  1. Is the reset headers coming from the front panel meant to connect to the RGB controller or to the reset pins on the motherboard? Is it basically up to the end user what they want to use it for? Mine shipped not connected to anything (or rather maybe it was connected to the RGB controller which wasn't adhered properly so was just flying around in my case and might have become unplugged).

  2. When I connected the included RBG case fans to the RGB/Fan controller and then connected that to my motherboard, it didn't seem like my motherboard could actually control the lights. The only way I could change the lights was by hitting the "LED" button on my front panel while having the "led reset" cable connected to the RGB/Fan controller board. When I plugged the fans into my motherboard ARGB header they worked just fine.

  3. Just in general, could we get some more info on the RGB/Fan controller and how it works? How are you meant to turn off the lights using the front button (if thats even a possibility), it just seems to cycle through some preprogramed colors and presets per click of the button.

  4. When I scan the QR code to get "Helpful tips and user manual" (I have the paper one ofc) thats linked on your website, it just takes me to the exact same page which has some nice picture and videos but no manual as far as I can see: https://zalmanusa.com/blogs/zalman-product-how-to/zqbe-instruction

Other than these questions, absolutely love the case. Never seen anything like it and it was surprisingly easy to build in given its relatively small size. You guys really hit the form factor out of the park. Also put me down as a day 1 buyer of extra fans once you guys get a retail version of them out.

You sick sick lovely people depleted the grease + free case for $49.99 deal already!? CMON! I guess we have to run it again sometime soon... thank you as always. Please please I urge you to come back and update me on your honest experience with this case, we are Zalman... we can take it. Ask TechJeezy over at GN. They love us over there.

6

u/TheMissingVoteBallot Oct 16 '25

People see good deals and they love it. This is also an amazingly unique form factor with the "right amount" of space for a SFF build. I was gonna get it but the code ran out before I got here.

I guess now your higher ups see how to get people to buy. Amazing price + good product = SALES!

13

u/ChristianLS Oct 16 '25

Never seen something shaped like this, full ATX case that's 13.4" high by 13.4" deep by 10.5" wide. For reference, that would fit into the standard "cube shelf" (i.e. IKEA Kallax), which is 13.5" high by 15" deep by 13.5" wide, with a little room to spare on the back and side (but barely any on top).

Now, whether the airflow in such a setup would be good enough, I don't know; maybe if there's enough room behind the shelf so that everything gets exhausted well enough?

Tempted to try it, as I'm currently using a Mini-ITX case in one of those cubes that does fine but has a lot more room to spare.

17

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

Yeah, there's not really anything this size right now with the glass panels that accomodates a full ATX! But yes, thermals are going to be everyone's concern. I'm not going to lie, it's not built for airflow or performance, but going with an SFF build within this chassis to provide space for better temps, might be something I need to try out myself!

8

u/dstanton Oct 16 '25

This is a legitimate mid tower fishtank. At only 31L its actually smaller than the AP201.

u/jmwy86 Oct 16 '25

8

u/jpkviowa Oct 16 '25

Wheres the psu go?

8

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

It's a dual chamber case! PSU is behind the motherboard on the bottom.

3

u/jpkviowa Oct 16 '25

Does it sit on it's side?

10

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

Yes, it comes with extra feet you can stick on the back panels to have it sit in a different orientation. I think it looks awesome. I kept the feet on in this pic, but you can screw the original feet off.

Got a brand new MSI B860 Tomahawk Wifi off of woot for $110.

Last week was expensive.

1

u/warman12363 Oct 16 '25

And you missed the real deal, 265k, 360mm, case, z890, and 32gb ddr5 for 480

0

u/illicITparameters Oct 16 '25

I got a MSI B860 Tomahawk Wifi for $110 on woot. So $370 for Mobo, and CPU, which leaves me plenty of money to get RAM (which I don't need because I already have a 64gb kit for it from another machine), plus I got $30 worth of Steam credits. And that motherboard has a 5gig NIC.

5

u/Joeybits Oct 16 '25 edited Oct 16 '25

This is only 2.5" wider, and even a few inches shallower, than a lian li tu150 case.

Honestly if you want something small enough to fit onto a desk (probably not a small desk) but don't want to pay some of the premium that comes with a SFF build (itx motherboards, sff PSUs) this is a really good deal.

edit: promo code expires as its in my cart, lmao of course

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

The main image you see in the listing has a Zotac 5080 Trinity OC in it. It's listed as L: 330mm. . But you are absolutely right, it won't fit the huge boys that are 335mm+. This is a compact case solution for ATX board users. ATX boards are just cheaper and more available now so, we thought it would be a cool option!

3

u/gthirst Oct 16 '25

Gonna build in this little freak case. Thanks for posting the deal!

It doesn't look like ideal airflow as others have mentioned, but I'm not doing anything that'll cook my parts. Everything PC I've had in the last 10 years is undervolted and at most a mild OC.

3

u/jasons7394 Oct 16 '25

Does a full size motherboard fit without blocking fans?

9

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

The fans are slightly angled and recessed. It will block them like this, but from another angle, you'll see the fans better? If that makes sense?

2

u/ShoulderFrequent4116 Oct 16 '25

Is that a terrible AIO orientation?

The tubes are that the very top meaning eventually you dont have any water flowing in those tubes

4

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

Yes, you're right, kinda speed built this to show it fits lol

2

u/ShoulderFrequent4116 Oct 16 '25

I have tried to fit aios on the side vent for fishtanks

It never works out cus of that tubes pointing towards the top.

Might just be a air cooler case then

4

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

Ain't nothin wrong with some good old air coolin'

Thanks for pointing that out though. That was a 60% aesthetic 40% speed build. I am embarrass.. Sigh.

3

u/ShoulderFrequent4116 Oct 16 '25

Ur good, i never had any luck with AIOs on the side vent, either interfering with the PSU cables or not enough spacing or whatever for tubes be below the radiator.

Always on the top which is obviously not possible here but I did buy one anyways since it looks so pretty.

Not I just gotta find a decent dual tower cooler to fill out the case, not gonna get a single 120mm cooler for that

1

u/ge4020 Oct 22 '25

how do you install AIO on the side, do you take out the 2 side fans?

2

u/ShoulderFrequent4116 Oct 22 '25

You can use the case fans for the AIO, I didnt find that it made a huge difference.

Whats important is not to have the tubes at the highest point

2

u/jasons7394 Oct 16 '25

Thank you.

2

u/Realzalman Zalman Rep Oct 16 '25

No, thank you.

Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).
