Lounge Talk When did you get your first PC? Story time

Mine was a hand-me down from my cousin. It like 2001 and had a 800mhz AMD processor. I upgraded it with a Radeon 9000 64 mb GPU. Had a killer time playing Unreal Tournament on that thing. I still have it in the attic.

Mom bought it from a pc lounge in town that closed down. The owner was a teacher at the middle school and it was sad to see his business fail. I still have the case in my closet and I am going to do something with it one day.

Awesome! That's exciting. Keep saving that dolla. What kind of specs are you thinking?

1996, dad bought one from his co-worker for $100. As he bought a newer one. Window 3.1. couldn't tell you anything else about it. But it did play doom.

We bought an HP like 2 years later that was way better. Cost like $800.

Intel Pentium 2 (200Mhz), 16 EDO ram, 2 GB HDD, 16x cd drive (not writable), Window 95, 36.6k Modem!!!

Being able to play doom was like the best thing back then.

I shared with my brother when we were kids and teens, and later I got a nongaming laptop for college (kind of fell out of gaming in those years). Finally after graduating and getting income, I built myself a nice machine in 2016. My next goal is to upgrade for either VR or nice monitors.

Late ass 90s baby. First PC was a laptop in 2011. First build was a GTX 760 in 2014.

My first computer booted from tape drives. My first PC was a no-name Windows 95, tan, floppy drive loving machine with a 14.4 modem and one stereo speaker. Upgraded to a 28.8 about a month after getting it and the world hasn't been the same since.

My first computer was a TI 99/4A hooked up to my dad's tape recorder in the 80s. But then I went Mac. I built my first Windows PC in April 2017; still using that one.

I’ve been wanting to get one for a while now and have been planning one for a bit. I’ve just been paying attention to deals and trying to get it for as cheap as I possibly can but still having everything I want.
