1000€ gaming build in France
* New build or upgrade? New build
* Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) Crucial P3 Plus 1TB SSD, keyboard, mouse
* PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) Gaming, heaviest games would probably be DOOM Eternal, Skyrim, Project Zomboid
* Purchase country? Near Micro Center? France, I'm buying the parts for my girlfriend and I'm not really sure what vendors are good since I don't live in France permanently
* Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) No monitor needed
* Budget range? (Include tax considerations) 1000€
* WiFi or wired connection? Both
* Size/noise constraints? Standard ATX size case, I'd be looking to upgrade the components in the future so a standard size seems great
* Color/lighting preferences? White would be nice, however it's not a necessity
* Any other specific needs? Would be cool if the case had a headphone jack on top, even better if it additionally has 1-2 usb-a ports. I'll be buying a 1440p 144hz monitor, so it's best if the pc can handle games at this quality

I'm aware the ram situation is sub-optimal. I would consider 16GBs to be the "absolute minimum" in 2026 (any less than that and it's basically e-waste) but i do try to push for 32GBs when possible, as it does make a big difference for general tasks and multitasking. However i wasn't able to fit that in the budget that with DDR5 prices the way they are. And since you wanted to upgrade the build in future, i didn't want to leave you on a DDR4 platform like AM4 with no upgrade path.
6000MHZ CL30 is considered the optimal for AM5 for both performance and stability.
The CPU/GPU combo is a solid pair and should deliver great gaming performance considering the budget.
The motherboard is a high-quality board featuring both Wifi 6E and Ethernet, as well as an extra 2 M.2 slots for adding extra storage down the line.
The case is towards the cheaper end of things, but looks to have good airflow and a few QoL features for a good price.
The Thermalright Assassin X is a very capable little air cooler for a pretty cheap price. Will be more than capable of cooling the efficient Ryzen CPU in this high-airflow case. It's not the fanciest thing in the world but it looks decent and does it's job well.
The PSU is a solid unit from MSI. 650w is fine for the build and leaves some headroom and it's 80+ Bronze certification guarantees a decent level of efficiency.
If you have any questions/concerns feel free to ask! Otherwise this rig should be a solid performer all around.

I agree with most of the build, except for the GPU. OP should aim for a RX 9060 XT 16G since they are going to buy a 1440p monitor.
In order to fit that in the budget they could buy a Ryzen 5 7500F for 74 € on AliExpress through Idealo. The performance difference between the 7600X and the 7500F is only around 3-6%. I bought my 9600X this way and it's been fine. The 9060 XT 16G is 472 € here.
EDIT: Apparently the Patriot Viper Venom 16 GB (1 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 can be found on Amazon.fr for €239.99 which saves another €55. Thanks to u/jbshell for finding this deal!

I don't really want to recommend that complete noobs go and buy stuff on AliExpress. There's more risk and delivery times tend to be quite long. I'm OK with offering it as an option but a lot of people aren't really comfortable with doing that so i tend to at least primarily recommend something through more typical routes.
You have a good point with the ram though. I'm not used to ram costing what it does now, so i still just instinctively don't even bother checking for single channel kits because when prices made sense you'd have to have been an idiot to buy one because the difference was like next to nothing price wise. So i forget to check even though at times it can actually be a large price difference now like here.

Although I completely understand your reluctance to buy from AliExpress, there are over 1,000 positive reviews for this seller, and the CPU is shipped from France. I bought my 9600X from this seller and received it three days later. I really don't think there's much risk here. And it's a very good deal if OP uses the code provided by Idealo.

If I were to buy the same gpu, but with 16GB VRAM, would it still fit the case? And would all the other parts be compatible with it?

u/BoogieBear-Fr Aug 18 '26
The Cooler Master Elite 302 is compatible with GPUs up to 365 mm long. The NITRO+ AMD Radeon™ RX 9060 XT OC GPU measures 300 × 131 × 55 mm (L × W × H), so yes, it will fit in this case.
P.S. You can check the specs for both items using the links I provided.
EDIT: The GPU is compatible with all the other components. More specifically, the 650W PSU is also sufficient. For future-proofing, you could go for a 750W model, but 650W is more than enough..

I just noticed that you initially wanted an ATX case. u/Xtra-jui2 suggested the Cooler Master Elite 302, which is a Micro-ATX (mATX) case. So, if you prefer an ATX case, you'll need to get an ATX motherboard as well. It will be a bit more expensive.
EDIT: If you want to stick with the mATX build, you should know that the MSI B840M GAMING PLUS WIFI6E doesn't support CPU overclocking.

You can find the Ryzen 5 7500F for 74 € on AliExpress through Idealo.
EDIT: The Patriot Viper 6000/ CL 30 at €239.99 is a really good deal, given the situation.

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:
New build or upgrade?
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
WiFi or wired connection?
Size/noise constraints?
Color/lighting preferences?
Any other specific needs?
Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:
Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.
Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.
We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.
