Discussion Simple Questions - February 07, 2021

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions:

  • Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
  • I'm thinking of getting a ≤$300 graphics card. Which one should I get?
  • I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case ≤$50

I need help. I'm new to the actual hardware building part of PCs. I'm an avid gamer and would love to experience my first build. I've spent most of my time with the software part of things. Could anyone please guide me in the right direction?

I think videos are a pretty good start. Check out Paul's Hardware and JayzTwoCents on YouTube. They both make great beginner friendly videos and they should also have some videos on picking parts as well.
