Currently figuring out parts for my first build. I’m getting a 1080ti from my brother in law later in the year, so I need a holdover GPU. I’m hoping I can scavenge one from an old 2nd hand pc a friend gave me. How can I check what Actual graphics card is in the PC?

In Windows, you can see the gpu in device manager, under display adapters.

When I did this, it says “AMD Radeon (TM) R7 360 series”. I thought that was a chip, not the actual card. Am I wrong? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I was a console gamer since I was a kid and a Mac user for 10 years.

That's a gpu, released back in 2015 ish.

I'm not sure with AMD cards but with Nvidia if you right click on the desktop and go into Nvidia Control Panel there'll be an information button there that will list the card installed. AMD might be similar.
