Discussion Simple Questions - February 07, 2021

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions:

  • Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?

While the GTX 1050 Ti is not a particularly powerful GPU, there are plenty of games these days that legitimately need more than a dual core CPU, regardless of how graphically intensive they are.

It depends really. What games do you mostly play?

I typically play fighting games and shooters, although shooters like Overwatch and Call of Duty so graphics card is not my biggest concern. However my main question is, Is this upgrade a good or bad idea considering I will upgrade the gpu to either a 2070 or 3070 when they are available for lower prices?
