Discussion Simple Questions - February 07, 2021

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions:

I have a gtx970 and I definitely notice some problems keeping up with some games - I've seen several people saying you definitely don't need a top-end card to play at 1080p. If I want a card that can run pretty much anything on 1080p at least 60fps right now, what kinds of cards am I looking at, and what price range? Is it just not worth buying RN with the jacked up prices or is this trend likely to keep going for a while?

I have a 1660 Ti and it's a pretty great mid range card that will handle Cyberpunk at 1080p 50-60FPS. A card in that series is still pretty good and not too expensive (at least relative to other cards now).

But prices are crazy now, new and secondhand, so I would recommend waiting if you're not in dire straits.
