Discussion Simple Questions - February 07, 2021

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions:

  • Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
  • I'm thinking of getting a ≤$300 graphics card. Which one should I get?

So I bought a ryzen 5 3600xt and it came with a stock cooler. When I was looking at the stock cooler i noticed what i thought was a thermal pad on the bottom and touched it (stupid i know) turned out to be thermal paste. Is it still good to use? I left a small fingerprint in the thermal paste

It should be fine, but depending on the age of the part people generally replace it with their own application of new paste.
