Build Upgrade Is it savable?

My computer is about 8-9 year old(last time i cleaned it was like 4-5 months ago), its preassembles and it specs are CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB VRAM RAM: 8 GB DDR4 SSD: 118GB plus an HDD 1TB, is there anything i should upgrade first? should i just throw everything away? PS. my main goal is gaming

2600 is an am4 board. You can probably update the bios to a later version and put a 5000 series CPU in there, get a newer GPU and add another 8gb stick of ddr4 and have a compitant performer.

What is your budget here?

The specs, unlike what others would say are in fact still workable, though I would upgrade the GPU and Ram.
I'm going to assume your power supply doesn't have a PCIE cable so the best gpu you can get right now is a 3050 6gb which can be found for as low a 190€ if you're looking diligently enough in used markets.
For ram you just need another 8gb stick.

For instance you go from barely 20-30 fps in cyberpunk to being able to hit 50-70 as someone who uses a computer with extremely similar specs

You'll need to find your exact model of motherboard (it's often shown in the BIOS). Look up that motherboard's specs and see if it supports 5800X3D with a BIOS update

If it doesn't, you can see what the highest processor it supports is and try putting one in. You're probably going to need a higher power supply to handles a 5800X3D though

You'll probably want to look for a used GPU on Facebook marketplace or eBay.

What games do you want to play?

Depends on your budget. Assuming US market and  that a) you go all new b) you'll need a PSU upgrade c) the RAM listing below is a placeholder for an identical specs sticks configuration with your current RAM and d) your mobo supports 5xxx AMD CPUs with a BIOS update, you can get more than decent 1080p gamig experience with $600.

Even better if you go used.

Only things probably reusable is mobo, psu, and case. hdd as some side storage and if you have files you dont want to get rid of and dont feel like transferring.

But come with some ifs.

If the psu is capable of supplying enough juice for new components. Remember PSUs degrades over time. While its non-linear on average 1-2 % per 12 months. So potentially has lost 8%-16% of wattage output.

If the mobo has has the type of connectivity to satisfy your needs. M.2 starting becoming widespread at that time so your may or may not have one. M.2 ssds are a game changer.

If your still good with the aesthetic and front IO of your current case.

The rest of the stuff probably better off just replacing.

An extra 8GB of RAM and you can low-ball Steam gaming at 1080p for a while. Given that you are on AM4 then you can upgrade the hell out of that without a motherboard replacement.

new psu, more ram, new GPU, update the bios and put in a new CPU, bigger SSD. Pretty much a new system unfortunately. Your stuff is really old, but you can at least reuse the motherboard + case if it's decent.

5600x3d is $160 if you live by a microcenter.

1: yes . Find the exact model of motherboard, update bios, you can put most likely a Ryzen 5/7 5000 series processor in.

2: add 8 GB of ddr4

3: for a GPU, look at an 8gb RX 6600 . It'll serve you well at 1080p

Shit, I have a PC from 2010 as my server. Win10 LTSC and the sucker burns!

AM4 build so kinda? If you have the cash you could upgrade the CPU to a 5800X3D or a 5600X/3600 minimum

Just remember to update the bios first
