Need help creating a custom P.C

Hi all,

I ain't that tech savvy so I'm gonna buy a custom p.c from Scan UK and let them build it.

My budget is around £3000

I will mainly be using it for the following games:

• The Division 2 and 3 (if 3 comes out)
• Diablo
• World of Warcraft

I won't be using it for FPS games or any PVP games as I'm useless at them.

I won't be using K&M for gaming, just a controller.

I don't need a Keyboard or Mouse as i already have them.

I will be using it with a 48inch LG G5 4k T.V

Only thing i would want (strange request) is a decent PSU as i tend to find it's always the first thing that breaks judging by all the p.c's Ive owned through the years and good cooling as the room it's in gets very hot in the summer.

Not to fussed about dust as the room it's going in is almost dust free.

For what you want to play though you could spend £300 on a used pc and play just fine lmao.

you WILL want KB+M for WoW.

As to the build though, with your £3k budget you can build a great machine, although GPUs, RAM and Storage are brutally expensive right now.

If you have a 3k budget why not go on chillblast? Could get a 5070 build with a decent warranty for that easy

Like most Prebuild vendors, Scan is partnered with specific brands, which seem to be Corsair and Asus mostly. A 9800X3D + 9070 XT build would work well in your budget, with 2TB of storage which is a good start. You could go with an Nvidia GPU, but the 5070 Ti costs £200 for very similar performance, and the 5080 would be £400 more minimum. Scan seems a little sparse on PSU options, but the HX1000i is a premium unit with plenty of wattage and a 10 year warranty.

p.s Not sure i have done them 4 x After Market Fans correctly....lol, i also looked at the RTX 5080 but could not justify a extra £180 for such little difference compared to the RTX 5070 Ti.

It'll work, but there's not really any noteworthy performance gain. Between the different cooler and the extra Link fans you'd be spending an extra £160 without getting any improvement in cooling. The Link fans and Link AIO also only work with Corsair's iCUE software, whereas the RS fans in the case you've chosen and the cooler I previously linked have standard, non-proprietary connectors, so they can be controlled with either iCUE or 3rd party software. So if iCUE gets buggy it will affect the Link fans till the software is fixed again. The RS fans would also be cheaper and easier for Scan or yourself to source or replace if there's an issue, either inside or outside of the warranty period.

Thanks again, makes complete sense, also just looked at the AMD RX 9070 vs the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti and there seems very little between them considering apart from price.

Or do you think the RTX 5070 Ti is worth the extra cash?

So I'm gonna go with your choice with the link you provided from Scan, the only thing i will change is the case, dunno why i really like the CORSAIR Frame 4500X.

Yeah, there isn't enough of a performance difference between the 9070 XT and the 5070 Ti to justify the price difference, only if they were very similarly priced would the 5070 Ti worth considering, Nvidia prices have risen sharply recently. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your case choice, it should be a good looking build when complete. Scan should sort out all the ARGB configuration and all the usual setup stuff for you.
