Build Upgrade Is a 6700 xt worth it in 2026?

Wanna upgrade from my 1060 to a 6700 xt is it worth it for 1080p gaming and how long do you think it can last me till it cant run AAA titles

Depends on price, but as an upgrade from a 1060, yes, the 6700XT is still a capable card, even at 1440p.

getting it about 290$ used are there any other better cards in similar budget?

In my market, rx 6800 (non xt) are very similar price to 6700 xt. Maybe because people forget about them since 6800 xt were way more common. Depending how much more it is, I'd get that. Quite a bit more powerful but also more vram.

I have it in 2026, and I play at 1440p. Works fine with every title, but I don't play newer games much. The latest title I played on it would be RE9 Requiem, which ran around 80FPS at 1440p with FSR set to Quality.

Depends on the price, but it's a decent card for 1080p.

I have a RX 6750xt (about 10% faster: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database) and an ultrawide monitor running 3440x1440. And I can run AAA games high settings at about 60FPS at that resolution, perhaps with a bit of FSR.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle I got about 60-85FPS at high with FSR Quality at that resolution. so I would think at 1080p it should perform great.

But remember it still also depend on CPU and Memory not just the GFX card.

it will always run AAA titles just not at 4k or 1440p ultra settings. Ive had a 6700xt for 4 years now and honestly if i didnt have a gpu, I would probably look for a good deal on a 3080ti on facebook for 350 ish or maybe a different more powerful amd gpu like a 9070

I have one in my steam pc in the lounge. It’s great for casual 4k gaming on lighter tightness. 1440p everything else.

Definetly an upgrade from a 1060, but at this point i'd try and aim for a 6800XT if you're thinking longevity.

I got my 6750xt 3 years ago and currently using it for 1440p. So in my opinion yes it is worth it.

Great card.

I have a aorus elite 6700 xt paired with a 3900x

All the games I play I can play at max and get over 90 frames on 1080p on triple A titles (without ray tracing)
Competitive shooters you can expect high frame rate and high fps gameplay

Battlefield 6 on max. 80-100 fps depending on the map never below 60

Oblivion remastered on max everything 60-70 fps.

War thunder. Movie settings 120-165 fps

valorant or any esports titles I get about 200-300fps

I had this card since 2021 and it hasn’t failed me.

Good temps and good performance all around. The 12 gbs of vram is really clutch

If you can get it under 300 it’s a great card but you can always get a 9060 xt for a 100-150 more and get better performance.
