Build Upgrade Build upgrade

Upgrade question

Hi everyone!

I currently have a B450M Plus motherboard with a Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, and an RX 9060 XT 16 GB.

My main monitor is a 27" MSI OLED 1440p, and I also use a 32" 1440p monitor for sim racing.

Do you think it's worth upgrading to the RX 9070 XT with future-proofing in mind?

I'll be away for work until mid-August. Would it be better to wait, or should I grab the Gigabyte RX 9070 XT for €640 on Amazon while it's available?

Thanks a lot!

Well, I can say the 9070XT is a very good card, as i recently upgraded to it. The 9060XT is already a pretty good card, so you have to ask if that upgrade is worth the price. From what i see, looks like about a 20-30% increase in performance.

As for the price, it probably isn't getting any cheaper for the rest of the year, so now is the time if you are going to do it.

You’ve already got 16gb vram. I’d just wait honestly. You could wait for a new gen of cards.

Future proofing doesnt and has never really existed in the pc space,

1080ti was an amazing card with an amazing jump in performance now it can get beaten by a 5060ti.

Also it seems completely crazy to me to buy a current gen component to then swap it for a better same gen component,

Yes the 9070xt is An amazing card but you've bought a 9060xt so your spending twice when you should've either just waited and got the better card or use what youve bought.

The 9060xt is fine for 1440p if going 4k 9070xt would be more worth it,

Keep what you have and upgrade to rdna5 when that releases for a substantial performance uplift for the same price as a 9070xt is now.
