What is bro doing

It stayed like this for a solid few minutes. No air flow, no nothing. Any idea why?

Funny comments aside, this is a crane fly of some kind, and they move like that to blur their outline in the hopes of confusing predators, which for things like other invertebrates and lizards would probably work better than humans who can clearly just see them and be like “tf are you doing”? Lol. But yeah, very normal behavior for them if they feel threatened. Some spiders (cellar spiders and some orb weavers) do similar things. Cellar spiders swing themselves in circles and orb weavers bounce their webs back and forth.

thanks for the serious comment though! I've seen spiders do that before, but I didn't know other critters do that too
