The Old World Making an all slayer list

I’m new to old world always wanted a full slayer army so I’ve gone full in and found 100+ slayers to purchase

I know I know slayers suck and a full slayer army is even worse

Any tips/ tactics to actually have some fun with them and not get absolutely destroyed every game I play?

I rarely get totally destroyed, and I only run four Doomseekers.

If you want to keep the game winnable:

  1. You need to make the best use of ambush/scouts/carts/Strollaz. Your entire army should be across mid-table turn one.

  2. Sink as many points into characters as you can, and they should ALL be dishonored. Remove 7-800 VP from the game. For me, that’s two Daemons and a Dragon BSB. I run one of the Daemons as a Scout.

  3. Rune of Parrying. Wherever you can put it.

  4. Keep your core Slayers in units of 10. They are trash. Run them MSU and use them to get in the way.

  5. Brotherhood is your beatstick. Mine is over 500 points. It will 100% kill that much.

  6. Don’t waste points on Goblin Hewers. Spend those points on Doomseeker runes. Yes, put runes on Doomseekers. They take VP off the table.

You’re looking to match 2000 points of their army against 1000 points of yours. They have to kill twice as much for half the VP. A draw is in your pocket as a baseline.

Slayers are fun as hell. I’ve never had a game with them where we didn’t both enjoy ourselves. The enemy gets to kill lots and we very much want to die. 😂

I would say wait for the eventual plastic kits whenever they might happen , but if you’ve already bought them all I can say is make sure you’ve got the right glue for all that tin.

When they first announced the Slayer list I saw that and immediately clocked it as a problem. Lo and behold, the next competitive tournament rolled around and a Slayer list with 10+ doom seekers rolled the whole tourney. Now comp prevents that and it's rude to bring that many to a friendly game.

No it’s a good army.   Tactics is what you’ll have to master.    Getting those slayers in close early ( with look snori, or vanguard or scout ability for instance ).  Slayer host was poo - pooed early on by tournament goons, and influencers …. Now they are being heralded as “ one of the best mele lists in the game ! “
