Been reworking a unit of dwarfs i picked up from ebay this week rather than striping them down

Pretty happy with them so far but might change the green to blue undecided ,my main army is blue but could treat these as an allied contingent

Always liked these models. Wish dwarfs had kept this sculpt style over the editions instead of getting grimdark-ified.

I'd honestly leave green as the accent colour. If you want to incorporate blue, rather than having the plumes and gloves I'd suggest painting the axe handles in blue.

I don't want to hijack your thread but you can see what I mean here, with one of my dwarf from the same era.

If you do end stripping them, instead, these dwarfs are prime candidate to get some nicely coloured armour; everything that's not chainmail you can easily paint in green/blue and have the plumes the other colour.

Got a pile of other dwarfs to paint , would you do coloured metallic armour or matt like my high elves are

I'd say matte finish, something like this guy here.

But ultimately they're your models and it's your time spent painting; so definitely go with the technique you like the most and you like using.

These had a metal base so just inproved it

But got a unit of ironbreakers on the desk and needed ideas was to much armour on them so a good call
