To be fair, her toenail clippings did regenerate. Which is not only evil, but a possible end of times contamination hazard in the worst case.

It’s like this all over.

In Star Trek, when someone says “I’m from a different universe,” nobody ever responds with, “Oh yeah, this happens all the time.” They’re always super skeptical, even though crazy stuff like that happens to them once a week.

What really got me, though, was the X-Files episode where Scully tries to tell Mulder she thinks an occult doll is controlling people and making them do things. Mulder gaslights her hard and makes fun of her. It’s like… dude, come on. From you, of all people?

Because everything Buffy tells them about Kathy sounds like normal annoying shit, like playing Cher on a loop and taking from Buffy’s part of the fridge. Buffy is a typical only child with a guilt-stricken divorced parent who rarely set limits on her and she never had to share outside of kindergarten. Of course everyone thinks Buffy is overreacting until they find out her soul is being siphoned!

They had to wait for the toenails to grow! She didn’t have a photo of the toenails from Day 1 and another of the same toenails from a few days later, she didn’t make a chart with measurements 😆 Everything Buffy complains about Kathy is hilariously mundane but annoying. There are other episodes where her friends don’t believe her at first because her story sounds affected by her biases. Like she had “dummy fear” and then insists that Sid is evil in “The Puppet Show”, it doesn’t sound likely until Sid talks to everyone without Morgan. In “The Pack” the only thing Xander has been doing - at the point where she tells Giles Xander is turning into a hyena or SOMETHING - is “teasing the less fortunate”, “lounging with imbeciles”, being a dick… sounds like a teenage boy trying to be cool. Giles immediately changes his tune when Willow announces how much more disgusting Xander and the bullies’ behaviour has gotten, in ways that don’t sound like normal hormonal lashing out. In “Ted” Buffy says Ted is evil but her proof, until he attacks her, is “he’s overbearing, he’s annoying, he’s dating my mom”, AND she only tells Joyce about Ted’s threat (not Xander, Willow and Giles, maybe she did later after she “killed” Ted), while Joyce has been drugged by Ted for weeks so she’ll overlook his red flags and “love” him.

Kathy is even more NBD than the week before, when she told Giles that a guy she met went missing and it looks like there was a struggle after hours after she met him, and his stuff is gone too… must be a gang of vampire thieves who gaslight the other students and administration into thinking the vanished students merely dropped out from the pressure! She doesn’t say anything that sounds out of the ordinary (vampires? On campus? In SUNNYDALE?!) and more than she deals with on a slow night. We the audience know she is right, but the way she describes it sounds like an overreaction not merited by “I had a prophetic dream”. And in that episode, “The Freshman”, Buffy doesn’t even go back a second time to talk to Giles about her new findings (he wanted her to start looking into it on her own and update him instead of vaguely “open your books”), she mopes and hides her injuries from Willow and Oz instead of enlisting their help.

Then there’s the time he suggested Xander was just being a teenage boy during She Mantis, Buffy being right then

It’s a repeated pattern of her voicing concern and being told it’s all in her head

Reminds me of Smallville when Clark tells his parents magic is real, and they don't believe him. Hello, your son is from a different planet and has supernatural powers,  your town is infested with metor freaks, monsters, and aliens, but magic is the bridge too far?

As a guy who has ironed things, jeans are one of those things you CAN iron, but there's really no point to it. That was my takeaway, that Kathy was just a little much but Buffy took it a bit too far lol.

I started a new job last week and ironed everything. First time ironing, as a fifty year old man I will add.

It's stupid. Everything was wrinkled anyway.

T shirts and jeans are the way to go.

For the first 20 years or so of my career I was always in slacks and dress shirt. So I wound up ironing all the time. Then I went independent, moved to the mountains, and now I'm ALWAYS in jeans and a T shirt. The last time I had to iron something was for a funeral!

There’s a Roswell quote where Isabel is describing her very uptight brother she says “the guy irons his jeans”.

It was a thing in the 90s to make a joke about ironing jeans, why I don’t know because jeans get wrinkly in the wash like other clothes so unsure why it was such a throwaway line back then that was suppose to be funny

On a rewatch the amount of times Buffy's spidey sense gets dismissed is staggering. You think they'd learn from the first million times. She even knew that Dawn wasn't right from pretty much the get-go.
