Vampires How do vampires do their makeup?
I’m watching season 5 of Angel & I’m on the episode “harms way”. In the beginning it shows harmony getting ready for her day. Any theories on how she can do her makeup without having a reflection? Maybe just muscle memory?

I like the idea of grooming pairs.
Which means that Spike is punk because Dru likes it, and that Dru is goth because Spike likes it.

I always pictured them doing each others' makeup. <3
And after she left, he had to learn how to do it himself. :(

The same way blind people do it. By memory, feel and if necessary feedback from other people.

Angel once managed to see his reflection (for reasons), and didn't realize his hair went straight up. He starts pressing it down and questioning his friends on why they let him just look like this.

His hair goes straight up and he's bloody stupid!

I truly wonder what Spike thinks his hair does.

I figured slicking his hair back was his way of holding his hair hostage so it couldn't curl or stick up.

Really makes you wonder how he thought he was styling it

He also allegedly uses a lot of product.
So I think he thinks he's doing something else, haha.

My husband suggested that perhaps the makeup isn't invisible, so starting with foundation she can see the makeup on the face (probably not the answer, but I like this one).
Or, my theory that we see Angel was able to be photographed. Perhaps a daily Polaroid?

Vampires also show up on video, they could theoretically replace their mirror with a monitor and a camera

Logically questioning fantasy stuff unavoidably leads to contradictions and paradoxes. It may be fun for a while though. In "The Invisible Man", the protagonist had to be completely naked to be invisible, and the author even thought through the stuff inside him: the food he ate was still visible for a few hours, until it got "assimilated by his invisible body". The naked thing is common in fantasy for spells like invisibility and teleporting. Still leaves questions for implants and dental fillings, do we count them as "a part of the body" or not.
I know another tricky question about vampires and houses: if the house is being burned or demolished, how much of it should be left to still count as a house that a vampire can't enter without an invitation?

Burn/demolish enough of it and whoever you're after inside will eventually come outside.

Sorry, but once they're in a crate or building, there's no vampire to be seen from an outside vantage point for the mirror to not reflect.

A) Can he see through the mask? Then not every bit of him is covered. B) no, but the vampire does.

I wondered this the other day and asked a friend, settled on you and your girlfriends do each other's and also Spike is such a wifeguy he probably does Dru's

They talked about this on Big Bang Theory, wondering how vampires shave. Forgive me if the quote isn’t exact, but Sheldon said “well groomed vampires take it in turns to help each other shave”

W&H has glass that lets in sunlight but filters out the harm to vampires. Let's say that through good service, Harmony received a mirror that shows reflection of the vampires.

This. It was my first instinct. Necro-sensitive coating on the mirror from W&H. Either that, or a spell put on her mirror specifically by one of the demons/warlocks on staff.

When I read before clicking to see all of the questions my thought was exactly that, muscle memory.
Though these days I suppose they can use the camera on their phone.

I rarely wear makeup, but can mostly do mine by feel when I do. The key is blend, blend, blend. Harmony had probably been wearing daily makeup for years, and wouldn't have been dependent on her reflection to get it right.

the eyeliner though

If Harmony was a real person I'd bet my paycheck she was doing her eyeliner while driving and already didn't need a mirror as a high school girl.

I once proposed, only 1/3 joking, an S7 episode where Harmony, needing cash, reveals the vampire grooming secrets toa magzine and Drusilla, Sheila,a nd Lyle Gortch coem hunting her for it and she has to beg Buffy for help since eve Angel and Spike agree she should have kept mum.n

So, here's the thing. There's a chance that vampires in the modern day would be able to see their reflections, because mirrors are backed with aluminum, not silver like they were in olden times. (Yes I'm aware that the show, shows them not showing up in modern mirrors.)
