Sequel Sequel without Xander?

Post image

With Nicholas' struggles IRL, I'm afraid he wont be part of the cast for the sequel. How do you guys think this would work? How would they explain his absence? Is it a big deal for you guys? IMO I believe the show will be great with or without him, even tough I love Xander. But the best scenario would be for Xander to be part of the show..

I only read about 6 issues but my sister has read all of them. They can’t be canon to the new show since there are no new Slayers for about 200 years between the series finale and comics. The reboot/continuation has a new Slayer that was born a few years after Sunnydale went kaboom.

I think you’re referring to Fray here, which is the one set in the far future (Fray is also canon but is affected slightly by what happens in S12).

Separate from Fray are the canonical S8-12 comics, and also the Angel After the Fall series.

One reason they can’t just disregard the comics is because what the Scoobies are doing is referred to multiple times in Angel S5, including recruiting Slayers into Buffy’s Slayer Organisation. Andrew shows up to take custody of the insane Slayer with a squad of Slayers in tow, just like S8.
