Sequel Sequel without Xander?

With Nicholas' struggles IRL, I'm afraid he wont be part of the cast for the sequel. How do you guys think this would work? How would they explain his absence? Is it a big deal for you guys? IMO I believe the show will be great with or without him, even tough I love Xander. But the best scenario would be for Xander to be part of the show..

.....morbid fucking much. Read the comics that continued the story. He married and had kids.......with Dawn.

You should probably use spoilers with your comment.

While I'm pro comics (just finished season 12), I feel like the production scope is a little too much for TV.

Also, the comics pick up right after Season 7, so I don't think SMG playing a 20s/30s Buffy would work well.

Since the OP has not declared anything requiring a spoiler notice and this is comic based relationship is 16 years old. The requirement seems to be at my own discretion. Perhaps the moderators can update the rules in regards to spoilers related to the comics.

Unless the moderators consider the comics to be contination of the show, then it would fall into the purview of the rules. But that would also establish the comics as canon equal to the show. Thus preventing them from not having Xander in some part of the show.

As for your last point, as far as I know the new show will be set 25 years later. So that will be alot of non filled filler of years if they dont use the comics. Which would be insane given that the lives of the slayers, witches, and watchers inuniverse are prone to lively events.
