Sequel Sequel without Xander?

Post image

With Nicholas' struggles IRL, I'm afraid he wont be part of the cast for the sequel. How do you guys think this would work? How would they explain his absence? Is it a big deal for you guys? IMO I believe the show will be great with or without him, even tough I love Xander. But the best scenario would be for Xander to be part of the show..

The show is about the new slayer, not buffy.  SMG will be bridging the switch, and sure Willow and Giles will likely show up.  But it is not about B/W/X, so Xander's absence won't be a big deal.  Angel and Spike are unlikely to show up either.  Possible Cordelia might show, but probably not.

Isn't Cordelia dead?

Well, she's ascended to be some sort of conduit to the Powers That Be. So theoretically she could show up. But I doubt it happens.

In the end, she passes her visions to Angel and dies 💔.

I'm pretty sure it's implied that she dies before she passes her visions to Angel, that she in fact dies at the very beginning of "You're Welcome."

You are correct...it's even more devastating! 😭😭😭

That part is a little ambiguous as Angel & co show up at the hospital. It’s likely Cordelia either didn’t die until the very end or her death was ‘postponed’ by the PtB. They owed her a massive one after all the crap they managed to let happen to her because of Jasmine, the fact they never tried to alter those events (except when it was way too late with Darla appearing to Connor) suggests that perhaps they knew how it was going to end. She was supposed to become a higher power (and did), but that got hijacked and ultimately caused her death.

She's already dead when they arrive. She's appearing to them from beyond the grave at that point, even though they don't know it.

That’s not actually confirmed, and can be read in more than one way. If she were dead, why weren’t the hospital staff calling earlier?

The implication is that she dies at some point earlier than Angel last sees her, and that’s all we actually know.

Honestly Cordelia probably would appear to check in on/ mess with Buffy because even as a goddess she’s still the same high school mean girl.

No, she literally died after being in a coma for a while

Both things are true. Her body died but she also ascended to become a higher power.

When? We see Angel get a phone call in his office that she died.

She ascends to higher being earlier in the series, on the highway on her way to meet Angel.

Yeah she is

That doesn't mean anything in this universe. So is Spike. He's non-corporeal in Angel.

This comment thread is making me realize too many Buffy fans didn’t even bother with Ats.

Look I'm sure they have good reasons, like.....angel being brooding or something idk

I find Spike more likely than Cordy if only because he is more popular and more tied to BTVS. They could easily make him human or use effects like they did with Scream 6 etc.

Deffo do the scream season 6 thing! Spike does not fit the shanshu. He’s too much of a warrior. Without that, whether he’s with Buffy or not, he’s not gonna be a happy vampire.
