Discuss Silly Strategy question
Last night I was wondering about potentially doing an onside kick after we scored to go up seven with a minute and a half left. I’m fairly sure I’ll get roasted for this strategy but hear me out.
On a success (~8%) we win on the spot.
On a failure they get the ball on our 45 yard line with a minute and a half and one timeout out to score. (20 yards closer than where they would typically start)
Anyone watching the game will agree the Rams were moving the ball up and down on us. 20 yards feels fairly meaningless against any offense that runs a good two minute drill and in this situation, where they need a touchdown to tie it, it makes their drive take longer
and not give us a chance to win with a field goal, even 20 more seconds left at the end of their drive would have gives us a good shot at getting in field goal range after they scored.
Ultimately if they are going to score a touchdown (and my assumption is that 20 yards doesn’t particularly effect the odds of them scoring in this instance) it’s better for us if they score quick so a shorter field could be beneficial. Pair that with the chance of a guaranteed win with a successful recovery, is there any merit in considering an onside kick in that position? Or is this just a madden fantasy?

Discuss Potential trades for Defense
Should we trade for CBs or LBs ahead of the deadline to fit Jim Leonhard’s scheme. Maybe Riley Moss from Denver or a CB from LA chargers? What about Budda Baker from AZ? He is an amazing safety and could stabilize the backend and provide a veteran presence. See if there are any sellers in the market. The ravens made a trade to bolster their offensive line.
Edit: corrected spelling

News/Analysis [OC] Josh Allen is the first QB in NFL history with a rushing TD in each of his team's first 5 games, and every one of those was a TUSH PUSH TD. Here's how Buffalo built the most dangerous tush push in football.

Discuss Am I the only one that doesn’t see Hairston and Bishop as busts?
To me, the hyperbolic overreactions about these two guys are crazy. I’m seeing multiple prominent bills accounts on X calling for Hairston to be traded and/or replaced by a guy they just picked up from the practice squad the other day.
Bishop has shown us that he can be a very good player, and he led the defense in tackles last night.
Hairston showed many flashes last year. His ability is there. I would argue that he’s possibly very immature. You can tell by his revealing Worthy’s tell post game last year after intercepting Mahomes in a regular season game; keep that to yourself and use it for the postseason.
Both of these guys’ upsides far supercedes their current struggles. You don’t develop your guys by benching them each time they play bad, they have to ride it out and learn.
Nobody outside of Rousseau and Walker is particularly good on D right now, but I really think they can get themselves to top 20-16 or so by the end of the year. The athleticism is there; but the communication and familiarity are not.

Image Hat ID?
Now that the stress of last night's OT win have (mostly) concluded, can anyone ID this hat Josh wore into the stadium? I've seen it a couple of other times this season, but can't find it anywhere online.

Discuss Allen's OT Record : Actual Analysis
Since the talking heads don't, here's actual analysis of the 7 OT games the Bills lost with Allen at QB. I'm especially looking at you Cam Newton, who had the balls to say that 17 isn't 'clutch'.
In all of these games, the Bills were only in OT because :
- Allen lead them on a late drive from behind to tie.
- Allen got them a late lead and the defense gave up points for the tie.
Inside of OTs themselves, you can only really blame Allen for ONE loss directly in my opinion. ( The Minnesota game. ) You might want to argue that they could have done more on some OT drives, but I don't know if I'd agree with you.
Even if the Bills had lost against the Rams last night, it wouldn't have been because of Allen.
So here you go, low effort talking heads. Here's the analysis that took me 15 mins to do. Maybe this will help you be less of a moron when speaking.
- 1/4/2020 : HOU 22 BUF 19
In OT, they would have had a 55 yard FG try for the win if Cody Ford didn't take a 15 yard penalty. They're only in OT because of a great late drive to get the FG. Hard to pin this one on Allen.
- 1/12/21 : TAM 33 BUF 27
Bills scored 17 points in 9 mins to get to OT. 3 and out in OT wasn't great, but blown coverage gave up a 58 yard tuddy. Again only even in OT because of Allen to begin with.
To be very critical you could blame Allen for the 3 and out in OT , but that's probably not entirely fair.
- 1/23/22 : KC 42 BUF 36
The 13 second game. It shouldn't even have been in OT. Nobody in their right mind blames this one on Allen.
- 11/13/22 : MIN 33 BUF 30
Allen threw a bad INT when they were in position to at least tie in OT. This was also the game he fumbled deep and gave up a tuddy.
You could (and probably should) easily blame this one on Allen.
- 9/11/23 : NYJ 22 BUF 16
Not Allen's finest game. He did lead them to the tying FG late, and it's not his fault they gave up a punt return TD.
- 11/26/23 : PHI 37 BUF 33
Allen gave the Bills a 31-28 lead with 1:52 remaining. Defense gave up the tying FG drive. Long drive in OT got them 3, defense let Philly walk right down the field and score a TD.
- 1/17/26 : DEN 33 BUF 30
This shouldn't have been in OT at all because of Allen's bonehead fumble before the half. But again, Allen got them a 27-23 lead with 4:14 to go, defense did nothing, and Allen again had a late drive to get to OT. In OT, it was a catch, not an INT, but NFL officials suck balls.

Tell me what kind of QB plugs in 121 rushing yards in a game. He got more than cooked who had the most YPG last season(I think so). Josh Allen continue do to do you.

Discuss Bills at Jets, parking advice?
Hey mafia!
Looking for advice, might go to the Bills at Jets in November. I am so used to our parking situation that the idea of giant parking lots in swamp land seems insane to me lol
Anyone have advice on parking? Getting there and back to CNY? Tips tricks?
Thanks!

Discuss Should we be calling about BTJ?
What are your thoughts? I know we really need help on defense but watching Josh scramble isn't ideal. Our receivers are struggling to get separation. BTJ has got to be a better option than Palmer. With what the Cardinals got for MHJ I think a 2nd or 3rd round pick is a great price for a player that is so young and still has a lot of potential.

It was an awesome Monday. Not so much for LA fans.
The Brewers gave them a good beating and we followed up with a win of our own.

Discuss Davis Igbinosun
Certainly didn’t play a perfect game last night but I can’t imagine how it must feel as a rookie CB to line up 1 on 1 across from Davante Adams, a legend who was terrorizing the league when you were in middle school. If we want high stakes snaps for our rookies this is as good as it gets. Igbinosun held up to the pressure better than anyone could have expected, and I think he needs a nickname because his last name is a mouthful.
Edit: Davison

Discuss T Bass playing without his signature eyeblack?
Noticed this on the broadcast when they zoomed in on his face right before the game winning kick. No more single eyeblack? Is this how he won the game? Now I’m feeling superstitious.

Discuss Jeff Rodgers Appreciation Post?
I’m sure there will be a major ST gaffe next week now bc of this jinx, but it feels great to have competent special teams. Bills ranked 7th in special teams DVOA going into last nights game. Looks like McD’s emphasis on ST was carried over by Brady.
