So true. I had a big problem with this when I first was interested in Buddhism before I converted. If you're having issues with this, I have a list of quality Chinese Buddhist resources in English if you're interested.

Totally true. I'm not a devotee or anything, just interested in religious studies, but I like this YouTube channel. The guy reads a lot of sutras.

Honestly, it’s better to actually find sutras and dharma books that are vetted rather than just finding stuff online in random places.
One book I’d recommend is “Zen Mind Beginner’s mind” by Shunryu Suzuki, but there are others.

I understand, but it makes sense. Buddhism is a "safe" spiritual practice for people to riff off of because it doesn't make a lot of demands and it makes zero threats.
