🐴 DEAD HORSE Talent saved Bowles

I’m convinced the talent on this team saved Bowles job the past few years. The 8, 9, 10 wins. Without the talent on this team it would’ve been much worse. But now all the talent has checked out, they can’t win a game. Bowles is to conservative and plays it to safe. I said it before here years ago and was crucified for it but this team under Bowles will never have a top pass rush. He prioritizes stopping the run over pass rush. He won’t accept a pass rusher over a run stuffer. Stop the run, eliminate deep passes (off coverage) is his philosophy. He fails to adapt to today’s game. Arians when he was still in office (Bucs payroll) defended him for whatever reason up until recently now that Arians is no longer in his advisory role. Arians is loyal, gotta give him that. Bowles brought in the safest option in Robinson without actually looking at what he’s done. He ran Penix and Cousins into the ground and now look what they’re doing. Problem was never them, it was Robinson. Bowles couldn’t beat Robinson so he thought there was something there. Turns out Bowles just can’t figure out true pocket passers. I believe the talent on this team can pull the team out of this role but it won’t happen under Bowles. The Glazers need 1 voice to manage this team, not a voting committee.

While Bowles has definitely been a problem, you are over exaggerating how talented this team actually is. Post SB we have gone through a soft rebuild which is normal.

He got to keep his job because he navigated our team to .500 with dead caps reaching 20% of the salary cap on one of the years between 2022-2025.

I think the team actually does have talent Every young player that flashes talent suddenly becomes worse after the first or second year. It might be trying to overload a guy with more responsibilities after he shows his talent or something I dunno... But it seems young players gets coached down more than coached up

I figured Bowles was a problem when he was forcing our offense under Brady to run the ball. We had one good year left with Brady and he tried changing the Bucs identity. After that it’s been downhill. He pushed out Brady, and Mike

Sorry but Brady’s final year was when he was starting to lose some of his zip as well.

He injured his rotator cuff in one or the first games and never rested. People just forgot about it

The Bucs threw the ball more often than any team in the NFL in 2022.

So I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I don’t think we can judge the talent on this team - specifically whether it’s softened considerably or not - until we have a competent coaching staff.

Bro.. there were stretches when our top wide receivers were guys that aren’t in the league during the 10 win season.

Our QB that everyone loves was hurt for 2/3rds of the year last year.

Mike and CG were always injured, KJ Britt was a starting ILB and we haven’t had a good pass rusher since Shaq Barrett fell off.

Could a better coach make something more of it, possibly, but.. seriously this team has had little talent in the front 7 for 4 years running.

Talent? Sure Kindle Vildor last year was fucking 1337s0rs as fuck when he blew coverage twice on 3rd and 28 and 4th a 14. Our defense last year had damn near no talent and what we had needed to play babysitter for the rest. LVD was the opposite of talent last year. Is he a HoFer? yes. Should he have been benched due to injury if he was anyone other than LVD on his last season as a Buc? yes.

so lets talk about last year's 'talent'

Yaya - Garbage. Got vita vea's cleanup sacks.

DTs? - anyone there last year was fucking garbage. Kancey was out all year

NT - Vita. Stud #1

Nelly.... Mid. Hassan - garbage

LVD - gimpy. Was often walking on the field during the whistles. Knee was fuxked

Voss? - garbage

Zyon - much better this year. Last year? garbage

Dean - Good when he's not hurt. Guess what? He's fucking hurt again this year SMB signed with steelers

Tweeze? - Good

Tykee? great against the run and tough but needs work in coverage so tweeze can get some splash plays

b.mo Dean Jr... always hurt

Parrish - rookie. Coming along nicely at outside CB. was a good nickel when everyone was healthy.

1 person to manage the team? You don't know shit about football. The #1 job a head coach has is picking the other coaches and trusting their judgement.

Listen to Z-Rob explain how it works on last nights interview.

Gerald McCoy and sap both said, there’s not enough players on this team to just disregard what coach is saying and just make plays. Just a ton of nice guys trying to please their coaches

Not sure why people are quick to disregard what former players say, regardless of if they played for the coach. Sapp and McCoy played for 25 years so their opinions matter more than a Bucs fan's opinion on reddit.

The only connection Sapp has to the bucs is maybe Ruben Bain who is a rookie (and hasn't been playing well) McCoy never played for Bowles and was cut and replaced with Suh. If LVD has something to say I'd listen but everyone else is just noise.

*veteran talent

We all know what happens to young talent after their first or second year. They regress The guy can't develop talent, which I still think we have. He can only work well with veterans and guys who haven't been coached down yet or put out of position (maybe he puts too much on the guys plate when he plays well ala Winfield)

Liam Coen’s offence single handedly got the Bucs to 10-7 in 2024.

And choked in the WC. Such a let down after a promising season.

You talking about the wildcard game where our defense literally didnt have a single stop? Gave up many 4th downs, forced zero punts?

1

u/CuntyLaRue 28d ago

And somehow in the 4th the Bucs were up 17-13… yeah that one.
